Red Dog Diner had potential when they first opened, but they royally effed that one up.

I love O Sho, holds a lot of fond memories for me, needless to say, I've had far better Japanese cuisine. However, I continuously go back to OSho, because of the memories and I do enjoy the food. Red Dog Diner was incredible. But yeah, it sucks now...if you can find it open.

Honestly, it's not that unique. Lethbridge wasn't the first, and it's certainly not the greatest. Poutine shops have been popping up all over Canada. Calgary has some, I'm sure Edmonton does too.
Can anyone recommend a nice / unique restaurant out in K-country or anywhere within an hour or so? I'm looking to have a function out of town, preferably as close to...

Crazy Weed Kitchen in Canmore is one of the best restaurants in western Canada. Not cheap, and you need reservations. Lunch is less expensive.

Why not check out Bragg Creek? Close to the city, unique geography, and some great places out there. It is close to nature, close to Banff, has its own set of day trip ideas as well, and is still day-trippable to Sylvan, and down toward Lethbridge.

There's Juniper, a hotel up above Banff with a nice restaurant that overlooks the valley. Or Bragg creek is nice and close and they have the Italian Farmhouse, which I think is delicious!

Check out Azuridge out in Priddis. It's expensive, but the food is beyond amazing, the venue / hotel is super cool and has an interesting story behind it, and you have amazing scenery. Definitely one of the best food experiences I've ever had in the Calgary region. http://www.azuridgehotel.com

I like Grizzly House in Banff. It's a fondue/hot rock restaurant.

The Bavarian Inn in Bragg Creek is incredible. Best German cuisine I've had. Good patio out front and it's kind of tucked away in the woods, from what I remember. Very nice!

What about Bears Den? It looks like they are going through a major overhaul with a new menu. They are re-opening at the end of September. In terms of venue the Nakoda lodge is pretty cool but I don't think they handle food. You'd have to get outside catering.

The Eden at the Rimrock Hotel in Banff. Amazing food, amazing view. It is divine.
Looking for a small empty cafe to rent with a commercial kitchen. Not on the west side please... any thoughts!

Keith...You may want to contact Mike Jensen, as he worked there until they closed recently. He would be able to confirm any changes in the equipment. Also, Mike is now looking for work.

Okay this is a long list but... these are the best places in town that are restaurants. (Places with a * are my personal faves) *Stella's, *Montana's, Swiss Chalet, CORA, Browns Social House west, *Kingsman Ale House, Telegraph Taphouse, New Dynasty, *Diaz, Korner Kitchen, Coulee Brew Co (only been once but liked it), Tilted Kilt, *El Comal.
Aaron P. replied:
I haven't had any issues with Browns. Pretty solid menu, if a bit pricey. Osho's is good. The keg if you like steak, Mr Mikes is ok. Rickey's is decent.
