Dentist - Luc Colleman

There's a world renowed dermatologist in Tienen: Dr. Thomas Maselis. It's a 10 min train ride from Leuven and his office is a 10 min walk from the trainstation
Jesse B. replied:
I'm quite happy with dentist Ann Steeno's service. Dermatology might be harder to get an appointment, maybe try the dermatologists of UZ Leuven? ( http://www.uzleuven.be/consultaties/Dermatologie )
hello :) does anybody have any experiences with a dentist in Leuven? How much does it cost? I lost my filling...
Sherif A. replied:
Hey, if it's urgent go to St Rafael's hospital. If it isn't urgent, Luc Collemans is a good option.
Laure M. replied:
I would recommend Linda Lemmens. Her practice is in Kessel-Lo and I have had several fillings done there and I never experienced any pain at all, she is very careful:). The cost of the filling depends on the type of filling, but in my experience it usually costs around 50-60 euros for check up, drilling and filling, of which Belgians get the majority paid back from health insurance.

Couldn't resist the temptation of commenting on this thread. Having lived in Leuven for 7 years, having had a long relationship with the medical establishment here, I can only say, good and bad experiences abound everywhere in every country, big as the US or small as Belgium - that shouldn't necessarily stereotype the entire medical fraternity or a specific medical branch of that country. Those who have had bad experiences, would have had so out of sheer bad luck in choosing the wrong dentists. However, I, being a non-Belgian and an ardent supporter of the excellent medical system that this country has (I work in research with some of the most brilliant doctors in Gasthuisberg, which is one of EU's largest hospitals), can only vouch for the fact that for every bad experience with a dentist mentioned here, there are at least 9 other good experiences of people who don't care to write here. I have heard only good stories from my friends and colleagues. And if some dentist didn't understand 'cleaning' its probably because s/he might have better understood in Dutch. Btw, by cleaning I think you actually mean "scaling" - thats the more technical term denoting "cleaning the scales/sediments from your teeth". I can recount my own experiences with "scaling" and "filling" which were both very well done in a clean, hygienic and very professional manner by a very capable young Belgian dentist who practises in Leuven: Eline Schol. If at all, something surprises me, it is why none of the Belgians here on this forum protest the blatant stereotyping of the entire Belgian medical dentist fraternity. Thats simply ludicrous. That said, Lina Iz, please don't let these negative stories prejudice you against the system. Feel free to contact Eline Schol. Please check your "others" folder for my PM with her number.:)
Marieke R. replied:
Hi Lina, Leuven is my hometown and my dentist is An Pinxten. She is very kind and professional, no need to be scared :). She is working in a practice near Sportoase. If you call the practice you can ask for an appointment with her. Hope ur problem is fixed soon! https://plus.google.com/116536182317291296814/about?gl=be&hl=nl

I (and the rest of my family) go to Ann Steeno (http://www.tandartssteeno.be/) and I'm very happy with the way she works: fast and efficient. But if you're not happy if you haven't been inside for at least half an hour, don't go there. Big plusses: online appointment system and no need to wait two months before you can go.
Karol C. replied:
Claudia, wtf? Yes... The dentists here are using outdated instruments according to Romanian standards.. But really, they are A. OK! GO to Luc Colemans he is really great!
It feels like I have developed a cavity. Can anyone suggest a good quality and cheap dentist?

The sint rafael clinic was efficient! You need to call at 8 am in order to get an appointment that same day, though. Their number is 016332480. They are n. 33 on the kapucijnenvoer.
Does anyone can recommend a dentist in Leuven? Thanks a lot!!
Ras S. replied:
UZ Leuven is part of the University and it has good facilities and service for a very reasonable price. The number for hurgences is 016332455 or for normal appointments 016332455
Hi, do you guys know of any good dentist in Leuven and what the price range might be?
Jayasree S. replied:
An Pixten, Tel: 016 270 260 Paul van ostaijenlaan 25 The clinic is near Sportoase (Philipssite), the range depends on what you want done. For instance, cavity filling is around 90Eur, but you get back close to ~65Eur through your health insurance (~70%)

There are dentists that don't have appointments months in advance for non-urgent things? From what I hear changing is almost impossible because since those queues are a thing, many dentists don't even take on new clients.

Do you know where can I find the cheapest and best dentist in Leuven? Thanks!
Paulina M. replied:
Hey! I always go to Luc Colleman. He speaks English and is very international-student friendly. You can make an appointment online with him. 15 min/30 min/45 min depending on the problem you have. Here is the link: http://luc.colleman.mijntandarts.be Press on 'afspraak' to make an appointment. Speaking about the price: there are 3 systems that the dentists can use: one of them is that the prices are fixed and 80% will be returned by the mutuality. He uses that system. Other systems will give you less money back and will charge more.. All the best and wish you white teeth!:p
Hey guys,
i have a pretty bad toothache, are there any dentist available on a sunday besides the ER.
I would be REALLY thankfull for help.
Chrissy L. replied:
There are dentists that work on the weekend for emergencies. You can call this number and they can help you: 0903/399.69. I have never used the number myself so I don't know if they are any helpful but I guess it's worth a try! Good luck!
Hi guys, any recommendation on a good dentist in Leuven? I'm afraid I'll need to say bye to one tooth so would need someone with gentle hand.. And how exactly it works...
Cristina C. replied:
I just had a big problem with one of my tooth and it was really hard to find a dentist for an urgency (I was looking or an appointment in a week). Then I found the UZ dentists clinic at sint Raphael. It is the university clinic I think:) they gave me an appointment for the same day! And for the mutuality, I have the CM and they told me to pay the dentist bill and then take it to them and you are going to have some money back ;)
