I'm new to the neighborhood. Can someone recommend a good vet?

for a cat i've heard wonderful things about the Cat Vet on south street. When i have to take my kitty to one in the area that's where I will go. A friend had a very sick kitty and they did wonders for him. http://www.catvetofsouthstreet.com/#!service/c10 h4 As far as a dog vet? I have to find one myself. I had used Dr. Radbill at Radbill Animal Hospital for over a decade but then he sold it and I do not like the way the new people manage it at all. Ran into some problems there and won't be back. Although Dr, Delago who is there is a good man if he's still there so to be fair you might have better luck than i did. World of animals on 20 th street btwn pine and lombard. I haven't had any huge need in the last year but will need a vet in the fall for a check up. I have used Ryan vet Hospital at Penn many times for emergency situations they are WONDERFUL but expensive. http://www.vet.upenn.edu/veterin.../ryan-veterinary-hospital Or http://vsecvet.com/services/SLandingPage.shtml - recently opened and i've heard good things about them. I currently have rescue animals from the PSPCA so i can go to them when I need to . that;s where they have had their vet care. If it's a kitty i've got you covered... a dog.. Dr. Delago is the best neighborhood vet in the area i've heard of it's just the new management that is annoying. here is also a woman who does house calls for her practice. I was thinking about giving her a try as her fees are reasonable. You can get her info from The Philly Pack store on greys ferry...

We used Queen Village Animal Hospital (not in the neighborhood) based on recs from other friends. We were happy there for a long time until recently. One of the vets, who seemed to be the only one with quick availablity, acted nervous around our very s weet, but smart dog. He was frequently unable to perform basic vet duties on her, and I found it frustrating that I still had to pay him for partial service. So, we have been seeing the UPenn Vets in the meantime.

Dr Dallago at Radbill is THE best! Lives in the neighborhood and quite possibly fawns over my dog more than even I do when he comes in. Can't say enough great things about him!

I take both cats and a dog (who is now 13) to Companion and love them. We started the cats at the Cat Vet on South, but had a bad experience and would not go back. The care at Companion has been fantastic and compassionate with terrific follow up.

Second vote for Cat Vet of South Street. Dr. McKinstry has been wonderful to my cats over the years. She recommends the least invasive and least expensive treatments before moving on to more complicated ones, and understands that I don't hyper-treat my cats - just take care of their illnesses. She was very kind to me over the course of 9 months when my aged Siamese was struggling with kidney failure, and I can't recommend her and her office staff highly enough. They always fit me in if I have an emergency. Plus I love their office cats!

Another vote for the Cat Vet of South Street. Dr. McKinstry and her staff treat my cats (and me) very well.

We love Dr. Dallago at World of Animals at Rittenhouse for our dog - he's fantastic with her, and often helps us work through issues (she has a lot of GI problems) over the phone instead of coming in every time.

Cat vet for cats'. Queen Village Animal Hospital for dogs
Our dog hasn't been feeling well (vomiting, refusing food, lethargic) for almost a week. He has been seen and treated by our vet and we're waiting on bloodwork results....

We left Rau for Horsham Vet, we have two large Akitas and have found that Horsham is more knowledgeable about breed specific issues and much less expensive than Rau. We see Dr. T, but the entire team is great. They have a beautiful building with a separate grooming and training area and the drive isn't bad when using 309.

Sounds like CARES in Langhorn (only 1/2 hour away - near Sesame Place) might be needed at this point! 215-750-2774 Specialists.

VSEC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center (it's a specialty Center and also a 24 hr emergency center). 301 Veterans Highway, Levittown PA 19056 215-750-7884www.vsecvet.com They are the place to go when you need experts and more advanced testing besides x-rays and bloodwork. Otherwise, we go to Rockledge Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Carrie Hutchinson and Dr Francie Rubin are excellent. We have been going there for 9 years. Love them!

Dr. Robert Orsher is a board certified Orthopedic surgeon in Bucks Co. 215-750-7884. He certainly does ACL injuries and does them well.

I have a 16 year old springer spaniel who ruptured his left acl. I didn't want to do surgery bc of his age a used an orthopets brace. It worked very well. HealFast therapy magnetic loop help a lot with inflammation/healing. Tap the loop directly on the leg, surrounding the knee. The electro magnetic dog beds from Respond system are great too. They create a stronger field and are really helpful for arthritis. Prolotherapy can also help to give the ligament some stability if it is not completely torn. For alternative options to surgery I highly recommend Dr Judith Shoemaker from Always Helpful Vet Services. She is in Nottingham PA
