The most successful quit smoking book of all time is by Allen Carr (no not that one)... People rave on and on about this book, so it might be worth looking into. From what I understand he really rubs your nose in it as far as your body and your life, and millions of people have given up by the end of the book, never to smoke again. http://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/advice-support-40/alcohol-drugs-addiction-support-462/607456-allen-carr-easyway-stop-smoking-all.html

I gave up smoking for 3 months using hypnotherapy then started again, so you have my sympathy. Then I read Alan Carr Stop Smoking the Easy Way. Timed it to finish the book the day I went to his day clinic in south london. Walked out at the end thinking 'so what's changed?' waited for the desire to smoke another cigarette to hit me - I was really addicted - I'm still waiting 16 years later! Now the smell of smoke turns my stomach. Best of luck:)

I started stopping by reading Alan Carr and succeeded to come off the nicotine for life during The Hoffman Process – it was expensive but I've easily recouped the money by not smoking since. That was nine years ago now. http://www.hoffmaninstitute.co.uk

Dear Rebekah Kortokraks, fellow "smokers" (like me; 3.5yrs now: Eek!) who desire to quit...(et al): Potentially useful personal observation/share from me on this today:- • I am noticing how... Hydrating well/consciously (with sugar-free coconut water & Pear Tree Well spring water), *together* with resuming the miracle of self-cure that is looping UT... ...(see link below from world expert & brother of health-integrity, Andrew Norton Webber - UT pioneer, 'Aquarius the Water Bearer')... ...is helping me be more conscious of what I imbibe - including sugar, caffeine ...& nicotine: I am - almost without noticing(!) - immediately smoking less (a good start for me, as I've been struggling to reduce/quit). *** FREE UT link/resources (courtesy of Andrew): http://aquariusthewaterbearer.com *** Additional, curious & interesting aside:- • I just invested in some organic tobacco (American Spirit, ie - more expensive, yet zero additives/nasty chemicals) - & notice this also helps/is proving very supportive, because... I still have/enjoy the rolling (ritual), yet - bizarrely - actually enjoy the experience of smoking it less, perhaps because one habitual element - namely the dozens/hundreds of addictive chemicals) is being instantly reduced... All of the above (hydration, UT, organic tobacco) feel to be colluding in my favour (with grateful ease & Grace!) - to taper off the initial cravings naturally, with far less stress/addictive response than I've experienced when failing to quit to date. Blessings Be! - & here's to y/our healthier HeArts...all the bigger & bolder to LOVE with: Aho! ❤

You're spot on that there's a strong link between the gut (and it's flora) and skin allergies and inflammation. Caesarian babies also don't ingest bacteria from the birth canal as they do in natural delivery, and as he's also had antibiotics he'd be very likely to benefit from an infant probiotic - I'd recommend the brands Biocare and Udo's, who both do formulations specifically for babies. Start with small amount and build up gradually to the amount recommended on bottle. I can send links if helpful. I've used them with my own son and also many patients with good effect (I'm an osteopath & naturopath at Tree of Life Centre in Hove). Worth looking at things like washing powder on baby's clothes and sheets (use something like Ecover), milk allergy (if baby on formula?), etc. Even lovely organic essential oils can sometimes cause further irritation or allergy in broken skin. Coconut oil (raw, out the jar from health store) has a low allergy profile and also good for secondary fungal infections that get into patches of eczema. Small amounts of zinc oxide nappy cream (eg metanium) help skin repair and bring down inflammation if used on eczema patches. Good luck and feel free to pm me if any questions:-)

Hi Shell Huggett I am working with an amazing practitioner using rewind therapy, it is a form of hypnotherapy that allows me to desenstise my triggers. The triggers I have been working on, athough not to do with wasps, are fear based triggers around some huge stuff that has been with me for a lifetime. It is working for me. I am definitely becoming de sensitised and my life has improved hugely as a result. The lady working with me is called Mary Evans, she is a Human Givens practitioner her website has all the details of this and other work that she does. Visit her at thehumantouch.me.uk
Mary M. replied:
Shell Huggett Mary does home visits. I would also recommend the use of homeopathy. I am using remedies given by a qualified homepath to supprt the desensitising work and to face my fears. For reasonably priced homeopathy visit the facebook page at the community project I lead which is aiming to make therapies more affordable our facebook page is at www.facebook.com/thehumantouch1
