ISO a personal trainer that accepts credit. I like to get about 10 personal training sessions (once a week). I'd prefer someone who can either work with me at my gym...

Personal trainer recommendations/rates Hey all,
I'm a fatty fat-fat (have been for the last few years) which has always been fine with me. Love my body, great...

Jamie at Fitness Focus, is tough but fair no BS kind of guy but not some dochey young trainer, helped me lose and get in a much better place after some neglectful years. Highly recommend IMO.

Lynndell at Mawson Fitness was my personal trainer this fall before I got pregnant and she is wonderful to work with. She started me off on a beginner level then quickly moved me up once she evaluated my strength and skill level. I also like the gym in general especially the women's only section, and the change room is always nice and clean (I have seen some gross change rooms). I'm sorry I don't know her rates but I can attest to her excellency!

Weight training is the best way to get toned, after carb cutting aka food. As far as cardio... I have always stuck yo boning or cycling to work. Hope that helps. Most important is make it a habit or something you enjoy or it will never be permanent

Going online does not equal an active lifestyle, sorry saskatoondooood.

Just start running? Calorie restriction? A trainer won't save you, trust me. You have to make this choice alone. You have an internet connection? All the information is online. Don't be a loser that says this stuff and doesn't actually do it. JUST DO IT.

I would recommend Mitch Goertzen at Goodlife or Tristan Hryciuk at Fit for 10. I saw Mitch for a long time at Goodlife until injuries stopped me from going and I trained with Tristan for a year. Both of them are amazing, extremely knowledgeable and have the personality that you seem to be looking for in a trainer.

Hey, another suggestion is RYDE Yxe on Broadway first class is free. Go to the intro to Spin 101 class. Don't push to hard to begin with ease into it and eventually your body starts to crave the natural high. A little less personal then a one on one trainer but same idea and great cardio. People from all walks of life too every class old, young, in shape and just starting! Great positive environment to get back into some fitness!

I've seen a few different personal trainers over the last few years. I can tell you who not to see and who *to* see. I highly recommend Garnet Rybotycki. He know his stuff, provides free meal planning and nutrition info. http://www.grevolutiontraining.ca/

Seeing as you're right across from Goodlife I would try getting in touch with Ryan, he met with me to discuss a 3 day trial. He was very respectful, talked about how I can go about achieving my goals and gave me some great advice before I even bought a membership. I should mention that I'm typically a pretty awkward guy and yet I didn't feel intimidated by him at all even as a total gym n00 b.

The most cost effective option is the Human Performance Centre at the university. I believe their rates are around $32-35/hour. You may find independent trainers for $40-50, and then you'll be looking at least $50 at places like Goodlife and Motion Fitness, I've seen rates as high as $85/hour elsewhere. I elected not to go with Goodlife as they seemed more concerned with sales than actual progress when I went there. They were pushing me to commit to a $6000-9000 training package, which just wasn't feasible for me. The trainer I talked to basically said it was a waste of time to do anything less, so I elected to not waste my time in that gym. Because you're at a beginner level, you probably would do fine with a junior trainer at the HPC or something along those lines. In your case, you want to burn calories while doing exercises that aren't hard on your body. Don't be afraid to shop around and switch trainers if you feel like you're not getting what you need. Trainers are not dieticians or nutritionists, though some may have both qualifications. There are diet specialists in the city you can see, or your trainer may be able to give you a few tips. Be wary of taking too much diet advice from your trainer though. Unless they're a registered diet or nutrition professional, there's a reason why they're not qualified to give diet advice. Congrats on getting started, enjoy your new healthy life!

See if you can meet some of the students or interns from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West Campus ...definitely a lot of fitness-minded people over there! A sure way to meet one is to make an appointment and get adjusted! You'll meet an intern and a clinic doc, that may help you get the ball rolling!
In search of a personal trainer/nutritionist willing to be flexible with hours. Please message me for details. Thank you. I will gladly take any suggestions.
