Places for dogs? Looking for the best vet, dog daycare/boarding, pet store, etc. in Lincoln.

My favorite local pet store is Canine Consultants! They have a great range of food, treats/toys, and equipment. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Trevor, the owner, also does private training lessons. I’ve also taken classes with my pup at Kenl Inn. It was great for socializing and learning some basic commands in a group setting. Edit: I also recommend Dr. Vondra with Vondra Veterinary Clinic! Reasonably priced and they have the capability to do some pretty major surgical procedures if they’re needed.

Baileys on highway 2 by highway diner is the best place for daycare/ boarding! I take my dog there and they have a great set up and people who really care and play with and take care of the dogs. They are right next to a vet but I can’t speak to quality as I already go somewhere else. http://baileysdeluxepetcare.com

Vet: Companion Care (Dr. Oxley). That place is fucking amazing.

Vondra has been my favorite vet I’ve ever been to. The guy who opened it went to high school with my aunt, so she offered to take my dog to that office when I first adopted her and I’ve been taking her since. They do grooming there as well! I’m not sure about boarding, but it’s definitely been my favorite place to take her for check ups, problems, and grooming. The staff is so wonderful there. The clinic is out on Van Dorn by Pioneers Park. EDIT: looks like they do have boarding! But no info on prices (and I’ve never taken my dog to be boarded there)

I second Vondra. There have been a few times where we wanted to get our dog in ASAP and we were able to bring him in the same day, they have pretty cheap grooming, and I’ve just overall never had any problems with them!

Big fan of clock tower animal clinic. Been with them for years and they’re amazing! Wachal out on west O street is great too! We took our shop cats there and they were so sweet to them

Lincoln has a lot of good vets! I've taken my dogs to Companion Care with Dr. Oxley for years now, he always gives a fair opinion and doesn't push excess things on you, and he's very personable with my dogs. I also recommend Vondra and Ehlers, as well as Parkview Animal Hospital. Paws 4 Fun has a huge following for their daycare/boarding, they have indoor and outdoor play areas so they are good for all seasons. I also work at a dog grooming, daycare and boarding salon called Your Precious Pets. We're a smaller scale business, and as a result our daycare and boarding rates are very fair compared to some places in Lincoln.

I work at Driftwood Vet so I'm biased but we're all really excited to see our dogs come through for boarding/appointments. I know all the dogs names (not then owners, sorry) and will recognize the cars as they drive up. Our vet is new in town but he's got great background - he used to work for Hills Vet food and knows a ton about diets and nutrition for pets. He's great at what he does and we're all doing everything to make the dogs happy and comfortable. Daycare is also $11/whole day so it's a steal compared to anywhere in town. My dog daycares there during school so you'd be likely to run into her if you visit

As mentioned, Lincoln is full of great vets. I’m fond of A-4. They know my dog, think he’s adorable, and when I need help with payments they work with me.

I can’t recommend Kenl Inn highly enough for daycare and boarding!! They have a “Safe and Sound Hound” option that is basically day-boarding with scheduled play times and bathroom breaks. They stay in kennels, but the kennels are surrounding the play area, so there’s always a lot to watch and attention paid. It’s a great option if all-day daycare isn’t the best match for your dog or your budget. Lots of great vet recs, but if you are on the South Side, go for Ehler’s Animal Care. Outstanding service, and (in my experience), great pricing as far as vet care goes. They literally sit on the floor with my dog while they care for her.

I work at Optimum Veterinary Medical Group so I might be a bit biased as to which vet is best. But most of the vets in town are pretty great and love what they do
