Hiya, can you post to: https://www.facebook.com/mumsadvicerant/posts/1093028250809100 I wrote a blog post on my personal experience of this. https://therealhousewife.net/2016/03/18/the-first-ten-weeks-a-slave-to-the-breast-pump/ We had a lot of initial struggles but it was more than worth it and I breastfed for ten months all in all. Good luck and congratulations on the new bub xx

Have a good support network around you, join online BF groups and utilise sources such as kellymom for advice and guidance. Watch guides on ways to help baby latch well, if you can meet with local breastfeeding support workers before hand. Eat well and drink plenty of fluids. Get as much rest as you can / need. Take each day as it comes and don't be afraid to ask for help. Aim to feed baby before they become hysterical with hunger (the more 'hangry' a baby is the harder they are to latch). Remember that breastfeeding isn't easy. Cluster feeding / being attached to the boob a lot does not indicate a low supply. If baby is gaining and having plenty of wet / dirty nappies your supply is good

Just wondering if anyone knows - I have told my midwife that I will not be induced. For my own reasons I absolutely refuse. My consultant is...
Stephanie D. replied:
Kym Pxsi Paskell induction uses a synthetic form of oxytocin which suddenly begins to work in your body whereas going into labour naturally the hormone is released slowly which causes endorphins to release in your brain. Induction with synthetic hormones is far more painful because of this.

And sands charities for the lady saying worst pain ever having to give birth to your angel son is nothing compared to induction pain! Also I wasn't allowed a c section for my rainbows has had group b strep

I'm 36 weeks and I'm in the same position as you, at first I said that I will opt for trying to turn the baby this friday, as the consultant didn't really give me any time to think or all the facts. This was on Monday, I've done more research into it and I'm now deciding to go for a elective section as I feel like this is a safe option for me and the baby. Especially since my partner is away next week (it's been planned for a year and he can't gwt out of it. Plus it will help him get a job out of it) x

My 4 th stayed breech from 24 weeks. I opted for natural birth if turning baby failed. I went into labour as i turned up for the ecv at 9:30 am and she was born naturally at 1:17 pm. C sections are not risk free and put your next pregnancy automatically high risk. Having had previous vaginal births is in your favour for having a vaginal breech birth. Google Mary Cronk breech birth for some good information

Gemma D. replied:
Best place to get info would be NHS website it tells you what is tested for so you can get an idea of what it is they are looking at....I don't think the midwives are able to give any more info tbh ours wasn't allowed to when we had abnormal results we had to wait to speak with a specialist xx http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/newborn-blood-spot-test.aspx

Why are people bashing! Jesus Christ. My midwives used to make me feel like I was wasting their time every time I went in for reduced movements. Ever thought maybe that's why this girl hasn't been in? Forgot everyone is a fucking golden parent now-a-days
Morning, can I have a private post please.
I have a flu jab booked for Saturday, but I have started hearing bad stuff, and now I'm not sure if I want it done. I'm 18...
Samantha B. replied:
It's because there are risks associated with flu jab. Because they can't do tests and studies on pregnant people they don't know for certain what these risks are. I asked my midwife about stillbirths etc and risks like that and she couldn't deny it because there's been nothing to prove against it. I rejected both whooping and flu based on my own research. Medical professionals recommend it because the benefits outweigh the risks (that they don't know fully) if the baby was to get poorly. X

I wasn't bigger and this kinda isn't the same but my first midwife was a complete utter cow! Where we live we had a choice of hospitals to gown birth at, 1 within the same county and 1 outside, and basically she assumed I wanted the one within the same county when in actual fact the one outside the county is actually closer to me. Didn't ask and got dead sh*#%y with me and my other half when we said the other hospital. She made me feel crap and kept huffing puffing and constantly saying well I don't know what they do at X hospital but I bet it's not as organised as this one. I felt like she didn't give me and my unborn baby the care and attention we needed after refusing to find out the hospital procedures for where we were going. I later found out my notes weren't filled in correctly by her coz she couldn't be assed. I complained and it took 10 weeks but after tellin me they couldn't change me midwives I went to NMC and they moved me immediately Point is no matter what the issue is don't take crap off a midwife that you aren't comfortable with at the end of the day you need to feel looked after x
