I was wondering if someone could recommend a good dentist for my horse.

Russ Young from Fairway Farms is excellent. You will want to have more than one horse on the appt though as far as I know. He only charges $50 for everything .

I have had Dr. Kirsten Anderson as well as Steve Richards... he is excellent... no sedation needed to float teeth. He has a way with horses... even Dakota!
John K. replied:
Source: Dr. Kirsten Anderson.
Andrea R. replied:
Gil doesn't sedate and he never has, if he has a horse that needs to be sedated he has a vet do it. I am also an equine dentist and I am working legally in NYS. Most horses do not need to be sedated for dental work. I have a vet sedate if a horse need any extractions done, it is also best to have a vet present when performing an extraction. An equine dentist who has gone through a school (like the American School of Equine Dentistry) often does a better job than a vet unless the vet has chosen to further their dental education beyond that of vet school.

FYI, In NYS it is illegal for anyone other than a vet to do equine dentistry. We use Dr. Kirsten Andersen of Lake Effect Veterinary
