Recommendations for a good endocrinologist in Essex, Union or Morris counties?

Dr George Gewirtz. I've been going to him for about 12 years. He's in the St Barnabas Ambulatory Care across from Liv Mall.

Dr. Thomas Chon in Morristown. I went through 3 endos until I found him. He sees me, my sister, cousin and handled another family member's thyroid cancer. Really wonderful, thorough, patient.
Debbie P. replied:
Well, My first one was very cut and dry and not concerned about my symptoms since my thyroid levels were good, so I never got full symptom relief from my hypothyroidism. Then, I was seeing one in North Bergen and when I expressed that my meds were increasing my appetite, she nonchalantly prescribed me 3 months of AMPHETAMINES to curb my appetite and told me I could def stand to use them. No intelligent doctor would do that when they're so dangerous. She then called me and argued with my over the phone when I requested my records (obviously intending to switch doctors). She was nasty. Then I saw a very medically competent endo at Summit Medical Group in BH who, again, essentially told me since the medicine corrected my thyroid hormone levels, any symptoms were all in my head. I had no energy, felt cold, dry skin, etc. Finally I found Dr. Chon, who was open to tweaking my dose to handle my symptoms and helping me determine if anything else could be the cause. I ended up being switched to a different brand pill and an increased dosage. I haven't had a single symptom of hypothyroidism since. He's open to discussing different tx options and making sure you actually feel better. He speaks to you like a peer and genuinely cares. I understand he's considered a thyroid specialist as opposed to just an endo, as well.
