Hey - I'm a mortgage adviser so talk people through these every day. They all vary enormously (not just a bit but by LOADS). If we look at our area I'd suggest an average would be Home Insurance - £30 Pension - £50 (based on 3% of a £20,000 salary) Income Tax - £156 (based on £20,000 salary) (You might also want to include National Insurance which very basically is a form of income tax which would be an additional £119 per month on that salary) Child care - impossible to estimate! I hope this is of help.:)
