We're shortly moving into Brynna with a newborn baby, can anyone please recommend the best doctors surgery to register at.

Llanharan medical centre. Fantastic surgery, amazing GPs, nurses and staff x

I think it's difficult to get appointments In lots of areas now, but certainly not impossible. The medical care I've received from Llanharan surgery (and Pencoed) has been second to none.

And tbh going to your local Dr surgery will help you meet new parents in your immediate area, I made some good friends from baby clinic lol
Melanie W. replied:
I am with Llanharan Medical centre and like all surgeries they are busy and have their downsides but I have to say I have never not been able to get an appointment for me or my kids and the Dr's and nurses are great.
Jen L. replied:
Llanharan is only part time open now n their surgery in Pencoed is the main medical centre. Am with New Surgery Pencoed myself and they are wonderful. Glad there was no room in the Llanharan one when I moved to Brynna!! My sister has been with Llanharan for yrs and finds them very difficult to get appointments and contact with. Mainly has to go to their surgery in Pencoed.
Suggestions on best doctor to register with in this area? We've heard of the one that you have to just turn up and wait your turn to be seen but with a 2 yr old that's...
Rhian S. replied:
I have always got an appointment with Llanharan/Pencoed Medical Centre on the day if I call at 0800 h. You may have to wait some time though and often you end up seeing the minor illnesses nurse rather than the GP. If however you are willing to book a couple of weeks in advance then you can, of course, request to see a specific GP.
Amy S. replied:
One is aptly called New Surgery Pencoed. The other is linked to Llanharan and I will say in recent weeks I have found them much better.

Llanharry has Old School Surgery. Pretty good and you can book appointments . They also allocate appointments for "emergencies" in blocks in the morning from 8.30 am and release more at 2 pm. They have two practices, the other being in Pontyclun. Hope that helps.
