I have a friend looking to hire a seamstress for their dry cleaners. Does anyone here know one looking for work, or a good place to look for one?

The cost of window coverings can be pretty intimidating if you have many windows to cover.... the cheapest I have found curtains would be at Giant Tiger - they sell patio door size mainly, for 10$ a panel... where you would need 4 to cover a patio door.... they aren't anything grand, but they aren't garbage either, and it sure helps when you have to buy lots all at once. Welcome to the neighbourhood.

Victor Bax is fantastic. My son was excited to pick up his suit so he stopped in on the way home from school to see if it was ready. He didn't have the payment, was just checking. It was ready so Mr. Bax told him he could take it with him and drop off payment later. Where are you going to find service like that?! He did a really great job on the suit, too:)
Paul S. replied:
Victor Bax has been doing alterations for me and the girls for as long as we've been in the neighbourhood. He's terribly over-qualified for the work I bring him -- he's a European-trained tailor -- but always quick and inexpensive and treats every job with care.

The Oxford Clock Shop at 988 Oxford Street East (about a block and a half East of Quebec) does a great job repairing clocks. I have noticed a sign on the door that they are closed until September 1 for vacation though.
