Looking for a Nhs dentist that cleans the teeth and does not send u to the hygienist. X

All Nhs dentists should supply this as part of your check up http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/nhs-dental-band-charges.aspx?CategoryID=74&SubCategoryID=742
Angie H. replied:
I went to one who had a fit at his receptionist when she booked me a check-in and clean together, as, per the above info, it's counted as one charge. I never went back. Crendon Dental always has the dentist doing it, whether NHS or private.
Jappreet S. replied:
Every NHS dentist will provide treatment that is *clinically necessary to maintain a healthy mouth free of oral disease*. So your teeth will be cleaned if there are signs of gum disease from plaque or tartar buildup. If you are brushing and flossing where required you should not require any intervention at all. Although it is in the same band 1 charge as many other items such as sealants. In the same way a dentist wouldn't put sealants on request, nor would cleaning be done unless clinically required. If you still wish to have cleaning (despite no clinical reason, for example to remove superficial food/nicotine staining) then this will usually be offered by hygienist services. I hope that helps clear up some confusion! Ps. Always worth just asking if you really just want a quick polish and time permitting your dentist may help you out at their discretion:)

You will need to book in first and have an assessment as to how many visits you will need with your hygienist. I work in Warlingham so probably to far but can recommend Banstead dental care for somewhere more local.
