Yes the guy on Anerley Hill is brilliant, a genius with repairs. Completely rebuilt a beloved pair of my shoes for peanuts. Ring him for a quote: 020 8659 3395https://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1247/68500.php
Do any of you remember Mancini's Shoe Repair Shop in London? Anyone know if they were related to Henry Mancini?
Connie F. replied:
Yes Judi, the conductor, composer and musician. According to imdb.com, he was born in Cleveland and raised in Pennsylvania. I thought perhaps he might have been a nephew of the senior Mancini of the shoe repair shop....not an immediate family member.
Deborah A. replied:
Yes, Michael Mancini just replied again and said yes he is related he wrote The Pink Panther song Connie Fall ..so if that helps any if needed more information feel free to contact Michael Mancini.

Anyone know of a good cobblers? I've got a pair of really comfy boots that I'd love to get resoled.
Last time I went into one of those shoe repair/key cutting places...

Cobblers nest just behind borough tube. I took 2 pairs of timberland type boots for complete Resoles. Came back better and more comfy than when I first brought them.

Cannot recommend because had not tried to resole my shoes for a long time. But around Putney railway station (nearish to you in Wandsworth) we have three cobblers in close proximity. One is "Cobbler" next to Chestertons Estate agents. One is "J Poole & Son" opposite to Artisan cafe Another seem to not doing much business but may still function is right next to the station sandwich between Costa and Townsend estate agents. Just called "shoe repair" don't seem to open on weekends though. Sorry cannot recommend but justt thought if you want to try asking...at least these three are close to each other to save you running around.

Oval Shoe Repairs just outside of Oval Station is great! Always been blown away with the price and quality when I've used them.

I've had horrible experiences with cobblers in the past, but have been going to That's Shoe Business on Leather Lane for a few years now, seems pretty good so far.

Not sure where in London you are, but the one at Rayners Lane station is fantastic.
nobby-w replied:
Try the shop you got them from. Over the past decade or so, I've had a few pairs of shoes re-soled. The shop will probably be able to arrange it for you or point you in the direction of someone who can.

The best repairs I've ever had have been via Jones bookmakers. They send them off for repair, its not cheap but no regrets. I bought leather soled shoes, got them to put rubber soles on them to keep the water out and then got them done again when they wore out about a year later.

Two years of a stressful contract plus a relationship break up and I don't cry once. Then the shoe repair place ruins my Jimmy Choo shoes and I cry in the office! But...
Claire S. replied:
They said they were like that when I brought them in! I shouted. A lot. Then a bitch customer in the shop joined in on their side. So I shouted at her too! I was so furious. I think that's why I cried. Hate confrontation. However I'm surprisingly good at it! The Area Manager is getting involved tomorrow. Shoes are being held in custody overnight.
Can any Dapper Dans or Dapper Danielles recommend a good, proper (for leather soles) shoe repair place in Central London? Ideally not phenomenally expensive. Thank you!
