It's a little out of the way but worth the drive. Dr. Stark in Fountain Valley. Husband and wife team. Randy and Lysa. I could barley move and they helped me recover fast.

HUGE fan of Los Alamitos Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, on Katella. It's a short drive from Lakewood and they did wonders with my shoulder/neck after a car accident a couple years ago. Very thorough, knowledgable, and offer a wide range of mani pulation, strength training, stretching, and other modalities. Hopefully I never need their services again, but if I do, that's the first place I'm headed. Also, please avoid chiropractors. They treat symptoms, not causes, which creates a need to continue to see them over a longer term. They can also do more damage to the injury, depending on what it is. Physical therapy is the way to go.

Nancy B. replied:
I was sent to LB Sports Rehab at Stearns & Palo Verde for my knee replacement. The PT who does the initial assessment and sets up the treatment plan (Dave) was great, and all the PT's were supportive and motivating. Each week I had measurable progress, and each week my workout was changed slightly to keep pace, so I never settled into a rut.
Nancy B. replied:
PS: I don't know who your HMO is, but mine is Monarch Health Care, and there was no problem. Good luck, Theresa! It's about time you got to wear more attractive shoes that match!!
