Haley, if you are closer to the Cleveland Clinic I second Carol's advise with regards to asking Mark L. He really does seem to get excellent care/coordinated care.

I have seen Dr James Fernandez at cleveland clinic. He is in the allergy/immunology department. Dr. Calabrese helped recruit him to start developing a PID patient practice. Dr. Fernandez is really nice and personable. He has great bedside manner and really seems to care. My primary immunologist is Dr. Robert Hostoffer who diagnosed me. He is in South Euclid (eastside suburb of Cleveland). His office is in the UH (university hospital) building on Green road. Dr. Hostoffer has a very large PID patient population. He has a partner he works with Dr. T who is also an immunologist and sees many PID patients. Dr. Hostoffer has been practicing immunology for a long time and is dedicated to educating medical students, residents, and fellows on immunology (immune deficient patients). If you have any specific questions, feel free to friend and message me

Jim Fernandez at the Cleveland Clinic is fabulous. He is a clinical immunologist, very accessable and very kind. If you call, tell him I say hell0 o
Bridgette M. replied:
Mark Leventhal, I had my first appointment with Dr. Fernandez a few weeks ago. I told him that you had referred me. I told him that you had advertised on the patient groups about him coming to the clinic. That made him chuckle. He was super nice and spent a long time chatting with my husband and I. My husband is interested in doing an allergy/immunology fellowship and Dr. Fernandez even offered to help him. I called to ask a question and he called me back personally the very same afternoon. I was super impressed. Thanks for the recommendation!
Lora M. replied:
He also does his appointments at Northwest Allergy.

I have been looking at Cleveland Clinic. It is very hard to choose a doctor; one to the next may be better or worse for you, you know? Trial and error process again I suppose.:)
