Anyone out there have recommendations for spine issues or back problems?
Physical therapy?
Laser?
Last resort is surgery....
Jessica P. replied:
I've had severe back pain for the last several years and tried everything to relieve it, massage, chiropractors, acupuncture, you name it. The only thing that helped me long-term was strengthening it gently through yoga. It has made all the difference in the world. I take Sarah Gustafson's classes, but there are lots of great teachers out there. You can find the full schedule here: http://www.yogalosalamos.org/schedule

I've just seen Dr. Rachelson at the Pres. Ortho office in the Espanola Hospital for follow up on a shoulder sprain & clavicle subluxation. They got me in within a day of me calling for an appointment and were able to do x-rays in office (that hadn't been done in the ER up here).

Sarah Thien at Rebound. She is awesome!

Rebound for PT. And Dr Guttmann from Taos comes to Los Alamos every other Thursday if you need a surgeon. Good luck!

Michelle Harris is great ! Not sure where she works at this time but I do believe she's still in town. Mike Hoog. Also great and I believe he's still at LAMC.

Megan and Dana at Physical Therapy Plus.
Denise G. replied:
Hands down, Michelle and Sarah at Rebound. Husband had 2 rotator cuff surgeries and leg surgery and recovered beautifully due to the skills of these ladies.
Anyone have a good experience with physical therapy around here? Thanks!
Natalie M. replied:
Mike Hoog and Lori T. Erickson at the hospital. They also do dry needling as a separate business which may be useful depending on what you need it for. They are fantastic fun people and great at what they do.
Sara F. replied:
I haven't gone to a PT here, but I would second Natalie Melaschenko's suggestion. Mike and Lori lead Hooga Yoga here, and it is obvious they know a LOT about physical therapy, and health in general, plus live it themselves. I bet they would give you very rounded, sound advice and care.
Sally C. replied:
I am going to Physical Therapy Plus and find the therapists very knowledgeable. I have worked with Mary, Megan, and Annette, and they've all helped me in recovery from a hip fracture.
Dianne M. replied:
This is my second time using Jemez Physical Therapy (now Christus St. Vincent). First time was for a knee injury and now for neck issues and they were and are excellent.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a physical therapist? I did a number on my neck muscles. Thanks.
Christina H. replied:
I have had great luck with Rebound and I recommend them hands down, however they are usually quite busy so you may have to wait some time/ get on a cancellation list. My dad had a great experience with Lauri and Mike at LAMC PT
Melanie P. replied:
PT Plus is great. They are in the building where time out pizza used to be, next to the Bradbury museum.
Can anyone recommend a good physical therapist in town? Preferably one specializing in hand/wrist injuries. Thanks in advance!
Mel O. replied:
Mari over at Physical Therapy Plus (same building as the Bradbury Museum). She does have limited hours though as she's only in town on Tuesdays and Thursdays (multi-location practice)
Margaret G. replied:
I went to Rebound Physical Therapy for mine, was a number of years ago, so don't know if she is still there. Last name Honig, I don't remember her first name.
