Does anybody else wish these threads were posted more often than just once a week? I don't know of any other place on reddit to discuss these topics in such a casual way (which I really like).

Anybody have recs for products that actually give hair some volume at the roots without feeling sticky or making it tangley?

I've been using Pantene Pro V shampoo and conditioner my entire adult life and am thinking about experimenting with some mid-tier brands to see if it works better for me. What do you guys like? Anything you would recommend? I have medium to fine, straight, long, untreated hair. These days I find that I sometimes have an itchy scalp even immediately after washing.

does anybody have tips or product recommendations for lip color that doesn't wear off? i'd love to find something that i only need to apply in the morning and after eating. does this kind of thing exist? a kind of separate question--i've been refining kind of a low makeup/no makeup look for every day and i'd like to incorporate lips as well. any tips for easing into lip color (color choice, formulations)?

Ladies with widows peaks, does your hair lay weird in the front? I used to have bangs , but I grew them out and now the hair around my hairline only seems to lay backwards, even if I attempt to style it forward. Ya girl is just real tired of wearing it half up.

I'm thinking about trying out Differin gel. Does anyone have experience with it? Any irritation or other side effects?

With this midwestern weather being all up and down (as usual, but still), I’ve been experiencing some next level dandruff. Any advice for how to handle this? I’ve had some people tell me to use tea tree oil but they haven’t provided a good method of application. Or should I just start conditioning with monistat and resign myself to flaking scalp bits on everything?

Has anyone tried Function of Beauty shampoo/conditioner? I got a set thinking it was gimmicky and that I would try it once and keep the bottles as a keepsake (it has your name on it!) but then I ended up really like it. But then it's so expensive! I want to explore some alternatives that gives my hair the same shine and lightness, so please suggest something else!

Help! My favorite liquid eyeliner is almost empty and I need help finding a replacement. I forget what brand it is and all of the markings have rubbed off. I bought a new one but the brush is chunky and I hate it. I want a really fine brush but for some reason I can never find any at the store and the bottles don't seem to advertise the thickness of the brush. AGH. Any advice?

Does anyone have some good inspiration pics or tips for medium to long fine hair with layers? I like the length, particularly for my upcoming wedding, but it is fine and straight which ultimately ends up limp. I am getting some coloring done which will help hold a wavy style. I think a slightly shorter length and layers are the way to go. What do you ladies think?

I am getting a haircut at an Aveda salon this weekend. Thinking about getting a botanical treatment. My hair is straight with a wave or two sometimes, fine, long, and thick. I used to put hydrogen peroxide in it a bunch to get it to be a bit more brassy since it's a dull brown. Has anyone tried an Aveda botanical treatment? Did it help? Also, I'm thinking about getting somewhat wispy bangs that hit just under my eyebrows with my already long hair. Any styling tips for that?

Ugh. Anyone else ever get samples of discontinued products? Sephora sent me a sample of Marc Jacobs Mod Noir perfume and I absolutely love it, so I looked it up and apparently it was a Sephora exclusive that they discontinued. I’ve also gotten a discontinued lipstick sample from Ulta.
They’re free so generally it’s fine, but it is a little frustrating to find a product you like and then not even be able to buy it!
Anyway, on the perfume subject, anyone know of a perfume that might be similar to [Mod Noir](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Marc-Jacobs/Mod-Noir-30292). Apparently gardenia is the main note. I’ll check out the perfumes under “this perfume reminds me of” section but wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas, as well.

Anyone have experience with CND Vinylux? I *love* their base coat, so I was excited to try their supposedly super long lasting polish that supposedly didn't need base coat. But it chipped on me after just a couple days (I usually get 4-6 out of a manicure). 1) Is this just a fluke? 2) Should I just use base coat with it even though not needing base coat is part of it's schtick? fwiw, I used the Vinylux top coat (not my normal top coat).

Recommend me a nail salon in NYC? I'm looking to get a scrub/lotion/polish treatment for under $30. Lower Manhattan and central Brooklyn (I'll be staying in Ditmas Park). I tried hortus nailworks and didn't like how they didn't ask before shaping my nails.

I need a touch up on my balayage because I didn't want to pay too much the first time and went to a salon school. But I can't stomach paying $250 plus for a balayage. ahh

I bought the John Frieda hair gloss treatment and it did diddly squat (I used it once dry and once wet--same lack of results). Is this just not meant to be for my straight East Asian hair? Would a salon gloss treatment be better? I just want uber glossy hair that doesn't get staticky. My hair hates oils, apple cider vinegar etc:/ In other news, I bought Biologique Recherche's P50W (the sensitive version) and I'm floored by how much I like it!

Recommended primer for combination skin at a reasonable price?

Now, for my actual question: do you know of a dry shampoo with a clean, simple scent? Bonus if it's made for dark hair. I've tried 2 batiste scents and living proof and the sweet smell of them makes me feel dirty. I'm sure it doesn't help that I associate the smell with feeling grungy because I didn't wash my hair.

It's been a few years since the last time I bought a eyeshadow primer and I should really toss my old NARS pro prime. What are some good ones out right now? In addition to Pro Prime, I've tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance and UD primer potion (but like 5 years ago and I don't know if it's different now). Skin type: oily. Thanks!

Ohh! I just joined this sub so I’m excited to be able to post this. For the past month I have been searching everywhere for a Lemon scented perfume. So far the closest I have found is Fresh brand Lemon and Sugar but it smells too much like cleaning product. Anyone else know a really lemony perfume/scent? Please no grapefruit. That’s usually too fruity. Thanks!
