This is my last pregnant lady question, I promise. 1) does anybody know of a Christian birth doula in the Louisville area? 2) I also am looking for a good chiropractor....
Beth B. replied:
Kayla, a good Chiropractor is Dr. J. Christopher Riggs, 10220 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville 502-244-3437. His whole office is wonderful.
Katie C. replied:
Leah wright for chiropractor. Ashton Moats for a doula
Sylvia B. replied:
Doulas can be expensive, you have most of your knowledge from having Liam. I would suggest you finding a support group. Chiropractor: Kathleen Wisdom in Pee Wee Valley.

Knowing you pretty well, here are my top recommendations April briwn is fairly new, trained with Stacy Thompson (who is AMAZING!) she's fantastic Jen Henderson, is amazing but it depends on where you are birthing as she doesn't serve A2 Erin stradtner Barnes is great too and will serve A2
Tammy R. replied:
I am not familiar with any just starting out. However, I am using Katy Wantuck Gladwin from Sacred Roots the second time. She is awesome! She is very respected by the staff at u of m too. They left me alone because they knew I was in good hands. That allowed me to labor in peace. I had the birth that we wanted.
Tammy R. replied:
I think she has worked a lot with Beth Bardeau -a very well respected midwife. Beth also owns Indigo Forest in Ann Arbor. A great place to check out if you haven't:)
April B. replied:

Ashley S. replied:
Uofl just hired a well known midwife and there are a handful. Nicole Zirnheld Aldridge is one. Also if u use Clark memorial they utilize natural options and allow u to use a midwife. My god sister used one after I sent her a documentary on them and has delivered 2 healthy kids with one Brittany Lee Wolf
Cecilia H. replied:
My daughter I had was a midwife Dierdre Barnes. Her name is Joanna Miller she is in with Dr.Pazcuzzi in Winchester
Brittany W. replied:
Hi! I had a midwife for 2 of 3 births. I was with an OB for my son and had a horrible experience. After Ashley had me watch The Business of Being Born I KNEW I wanted to go natural second go round. I had my daughter over the bridge at Clark Memorial with Alison Tower Reid as my midwife. She is with the WONDERFUL practice Woman Care. I had a doula as well. Nicole Zirnheld Aldridge was my childbirth educator for the birth of my daughter and she was my doula with my surro-baby and she is AMAZING. I know that for me personally going natural with a midwife was the best decision and I would do it each and every time. Clark Memorial actually doesn't allow water births right now. You can labor in the tub, but not deliver in the tub. My friend Corri who is also a natural childbirth educator had her baby at home in the water. I am a complete open book on the matter so if you want to chat more or would like more detail just let me know
Emily S. replied:
I had both my babies naturally with the midwives at Womancare at Clark Memorial. We had such wonderful experiences there. U of L actually just hired Louisvilles first certified nurse midwife Damara Jenkins who currently works at Clark, so that's another good option if you want a midwife at a hospital. But the hospitals with labor tubs will allow you to labor in the tub but not actually push the baby out while in the tub. So if you want to actually BIRTH in water you will have to do a home birth. Jenny Claire Hoffmann was my doula and is a terrific resource. Also Angela Garvin and Angela Shalenko are great resources too!
Anyone of my (local) friends doula, or know of one? Looking to speak to said person about something I've been interested in! Message me if you could please!!
