Looking for a physical therapist in Louisville who is expert at treating BPPV-related vertigo and performing the Epley maneuver. Anyone?
Michelle M. replied:
This shows CRP maneuver which should help. Also rubbing at the base of the skull should help ease some of the issues. I went through a terrible period of getting vertigo. Hope this helps: http://vestibular.org/understanding-vestibular-disorders/types-vestibular-disorders/benign-paroxysmal-positional-vertigo
Maureen W. replied:
Dr. Dana O'Neil a Chiropractor on Lexington Road has been helping my mom this past year for her vertigo. He has been very successful helping her with mastering the maneuver at home and he has taken classes on the adjustments necessary to bring relief.
Cindy N. replied:
Though I haven't had this particular problem I have gone to Dr. O'Neil for more than 25 years. He adjusted me the night before I delivered Carman. I have every confidence in him. If he is familiar with this issue --go to him.
Brooklyn G. replied:
Dr ONeil is a great chiropractor. Im going to ask him about it too. Ive been going to him off and on over a decade. Thanks Maureen, I wouldnt have thought to ask him about this. I just read the attached article and it seems to me that people might naturally move these crystals while sleeping. I know I dont have BPPV and am hoping yours is only temporary.
Brooklyn G. replied:
Margie Brand, nothing like a Dingman/Wathen brother in law for sure. These guys dont confine themselves to thinking in the box- LOVE it!
Maureen W. replied:
Brooklyn and Ben just to be safe. You should both check out the link I am posting. My sister and father both had Minieres. My sister has to really watch her salt intake.http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/menieres-disease/basics/definition/con-20028251

I do billing and tech support for my mother who runs a small PT business out of a Nortons Immediate Care Center in Jeffersonville across the river. She specializes in sports related back injuries. She knows the PT community well so if Jeff is too far from you, I could ask for her recommendations near your area of Louisville.
whatdc replied:
I am a chiropractor who treats this kind of stuff regularly. I am on the east end of that helps.
runningraleigh replied:
I see Dr. Jeff Fortes at the SCORE Clinic. He is a chiropractor and PT who specializes in sports injuries almost exclusively. He does graston and active release techniques, which are really effective. Even better, you can text him to ask treatment questions and he's pretty good about responding the same day. Sometimes he follows up with me via text several days after an injury to check on it. Now that's some good service right there.
