For the 8-9 yr old girls' party, if you have it at your home I know an awesome "fairy"/facepainter. And for the out of town visitors? The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is currently having, "Mythbusters: an Explosive Experience". Should be fun for kids and adults. Also, if they're model train buffs at all, the Greeley Train Depot has an amazing display for cheap.

Dr. Koditek at the walmart on Denver seemed to be pretty good. Walmart vision centers are the most reasonable prices that I'm aware of. . .I want to say it was $60 for a glasses exam, and contacts bumped it to $90? Or thereabouts? Also, used my prescription from walmart to go online and buy glasses from zenni.com for super cheap.
