Andy: Burkhardt Bros. movers was excellent. We used them when we moved from Boston to the Shipyard and were totally impressed. Unfortunately they weren't available when we moved to our house.

I just used one of those teams at work for a job. Three-hour minimum seems to be the standard. They have to make it worth the trip, and they don't want suburban clockwatchers that are going to argue over whether each 5 minute block of time counted as "working."

I moved from the fourth floor to the second floor of the same building, and it still took around three hours. I hired movers because I just wanted to get it done, and I was surprised when I still hit that minimum. It will probably take longer than you think.

I just did this. Moved 2 miles, only had them move heavy items and furniture from my 1 bedroom. Still took 3 hours. It will take longer than you expect.

unless you use like nextdoor or taskrabbit (which likelymeans they wont be insured), this is the world we live in. plus in this area a few miles can take a while.

Bad experience with 3 E in Chelmsford. Tried to charge more before they unloaded after they gave a speech about how they dont do that and used all highschool aged kids. Would not recommend them to anyone. Would go with Gentle Giant.
