Best advice I can give you is to check out a bunch of local artists instagrams and see who's style you like. Here are some of my favorite local wellington artists, all do really good work and are worth talking to: * https://www.instagram.com/jennyarcus/ * https://www.instagram.com/simonmorseart/ * https://www.instagram.com/heathtoddtattoo/ * https://www.instagram.com/jamiereneetattoo/ * https://www.instagram.com/miketoddtattoo/ * https://www.instagram.com/deathorglory666 tattoo/ * https://www.instagram.com/toplip_dunga/ * https://www.instagram.com/booga_beazley/

The one in bond street is good. I don't remember their name. But they are reachable through email and do respond / respect your thoughts.

Best advice I can give you is to look for the artist that can do the style you want. Most tattooists will have Instagrams that act as a portfolio for their work, like u/BananaLlama pointed out. My wife and I have personally gotten tattoos from Craigy, Sholto, Zoe, and Steph and Union Tattoo, and Rose and Leah at Ninja Flower. I've also got a couple from Aaron Luckman, but I think he's moving on if he hasn't already. What are you thinking of getting? That might help with pointing you in the right direction. EDIT: Turns out Leah has left Ninja Flower.

It's crazy you posted this, I just moved to Welly over the weekend and have set myself a goal to lose a certain amount of weight in the next 2 months. As a reward for achieving it, I intend on getting a tattoo on my shoulder but want it to be custom to certain events in my life. So there I was googling Tattoo artists before I landed onto this post where you've asked the same question and people have shared both artists & where to find them! It has got me thinking about different artist styles to add into my search criteria as well. Good luck in your search!

I’ve got mine done by Jolene Tempest at Dr Morse in the James Smiths Market (corner of Cuba & Manners), all the artists there are awesome and all specialise in different techniques.

I had my right arm done by Mario at the Gallery, Custom Tattoo on Bond Street. All the artists there are amazing though, settle in for a wait time if you want to book in.
Anyone know any good places to get a tattoo in Wellington? Not too concerned on price, just want a good job.

Depend what sort of style u look for. Each artist has their own style... I like bold color, so I went to Gill at Tattoo Machine on Dixon St. Got a sleeve from him, eventually leads to a body suit. Art is the eye of the beholder, one man's trash is other man's treasure
