LGBT friendly therapists Anyone have any experience or recommendations on therapists to look for or avoid in the area? I've been looking, but was seeing if anyone here...

The TTU Psychology clinic goes on a sliding scale fee and part of the screening questions are how do you identify/pronouns, etc.

One of my friends is lgbt. I know he had to use someone locally when he was gearing up for HRT. Let me see if he has any suggestions

Try checking Family Counseling Services. They have fully licensed and also students working towards their degrees/licensing. http://www.fcslubbock.org/ I can't speak for the LGBT part but my counselor, who was still a student at the time, was wonderful.

Heather Dalton Dennis. I'm also LGBT and went and saw Heather for a while. She's very accepting of the community and is incredibly easy to talk to. She helped me out a ton

I just started seeing Terri Beard at the TTUHSC Counseling Center (also known as the EAP). We've only had one session so far, but she seems totally cool with the fact that I'm in a same-sex marriage. As an added bonus, Tech employees get 6 free sessions there per fiscal year. I think that applies to HSC employees as well, but not 100% sure.
