Best place to buy a mattress? I'm moving to Madison in the next few weeks, and I'm excited to pick and purchase my first self-bought mattress. Any tips/recommendations...

I bought this one off amazon 3 years ago and slept on it for 2 year. I was extremely pleased with it and just buought a larger version of the same. Much cheaper than most you will find too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GTCL2FU/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_FDaJxbYTNE0XF

I got a full sized memory foam bed from Big Lots for around 500 with the box spring and frame.

Also, I'm just going to recommend http://www.sleeplikethedead.com/bed-mattress-review-home.html to look up mattresses. Going to try them out at a store means dealing with pushy salesmen trying to make a profit. Going over reviews at home first gives you a much better place to start.

I have heard great things from friends and Reddit about https://www.tuftandneedle.com/ It is who I will probably be getting my next mattress from.

Not quite what you're looking for...or at least directly asking for...but consider looking online - there are some good mattresses at excellent prices. Consider Ghost Bed, Leesa (I just bought one of these), etc. (Casper is another popular option, but many, many reviews rate it as lower quality). Check out Sleepopolis for reviews! (Many/most come with 100 night trials and free returns/pickup if you're unsatisfied, so you have nothing to lose!)

Casper.com Great bed, amazing return policy. Cheaper than a lot of other beds. Honestly, you should try it out. Free return if you don't like it. But you will like it.

What size are you looking for? Casper.com/mattresses and use promo code roosterteeth to get $50 off, with that: Twin: 450 Twin XL: 550 Full: 700 Queen: 800 They also have a 100 day trial where if you don't like it you can return it. 10/10 Would recommend.
