Need an HVAC person to come today to new house and figure out "WHY" We have 5 minutes of hot water at a time? (Yes, I checked the temperature on water heater). Need...
Does anyone know of an affordable dryer repair person? My 1 year old dryer is no longer heating :(
Jeremy K. replied:
Ron Standish out of CP. 798.1332. Friend of my folks. Older guy with kind of a dry personality, but hes good and cheap and sometimes can trouble-shoot over the phone. Hope you are well otherwise.
Adam B. replied:
If it is electric it is most likelya heating element and really simple. You just need to get the new element. Something like this for a whirpool duet. http://www.amazon.com/Whirlpo.../dp/B0053F7UIM/ref=sr_1_1...

We bought a new central air unit last spring and I called around to several companies to get quotes. I ended up talking to a salesman from a Madison company and he actually had good things to say about one of his competitors. Dennis from Adjustable Heating and Cooling(608-347-7959) came and put our central air unit in and no worries, good price. The company you pick will be the company that provides warranty service on your unit. So pick wisely(Indiana Jones Holy Grail Knight voice). I have also had Pharo out to the house for a quick check up on the furnace too but they came in on a quote for $600 more than I paid for my new central air unit.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a AC repair company in the area? Ours is blowing warm air... Hoping we just need a recharge!
Jason S. replied:
We've used several companies before landing on the company we've been most satisfied with - that being All Comfort Services.
Nancy N. replied:
I love High Tech Heating. The owner is a LaFollette grad. I had a problem today with mine and they were out right away.
Chrystal S. replied:
Turns out we needed a new motor and refrigerant. We went with Rock Mechanical. Very friendly and good service. They came out right away. It was a bit pricier than I had hoped, but I didn't have much to compare it to. the initial housecall was a bit cheaper than what All Comfort quoted. $90 just for the initial check-out, and they gave us 10% off our total bill. Ended up at $500 for everything
Matt I. replied:
From my experience, Mack Weaver at Seasonal Survival beat everyone else we checked in price by quite a wide margin. Couldn't be happier with the quality of his service, too!
Matt I. replied:
Copied and pasted from a recommendation I posted about a year and a half ago (it was regarding a furnace repair, but I know he does A/C as well): "Well, what could have been a very frustrating and expensive addition to the list of "perks of being a homeowner" had a very happy ending today. Our furnace was intermittently not firing up when it should once last weekend, but turning its power off and then back on a few minutes later solved the problem (temporarily, as it turned out). I found an HVAC company that had received good reviews online, purchased a groupon for a furnace cleaning, and took the first appointment they had available - the Wednesday immediately before Thanksgiving. Then prayed that it simply needed a cleaning, and didn't already have one foot in the grave. Fast-forward to last night, and it wouldn't kick on again. My turn off-and-on routine didn't work this time. Covered the boys up with extra blankets and called the company I had made an cleaning appointment with first thing this morning to see if they made Saturday service calls. Turns out that not only do they make Saturday service calls, but they don't charge extra for them. And the owner (Mack Weaver) would be more than happy to use the Groupon I had purchased for the service call and only charge me for parts. Oh, did I mention that he used the information I gave him over the phone to stop at his wholesaler on the way over (on Saturday morning, mind you) to pick up a new controller board since he thought that was most likely culprit? He got here at about 11:20, the furnace was fixed (and cleaned!) by noon, and my only bill was the cost of the new controller (<$250). He even asked if anyone in the house was a veteran (sadly, no) before I paid so he could give us a military discount! I'd take that ANY day, but on a Saturday in the midst of the first cold week of the season?!? Thanks for the awesome, honest work, Mack. If any of my friends in south central WI need HVAC work done, I would highly recommend calling Season Survival at 608-235-7176. I also have several of his cards with coupons good for furnace checks and cleanings for $65."

Matt Ida, we just found your recommendation for Mack Weaver on Saturday night when our a/c went out. We called him at 8 on Sat night, and he was here by 8:45. Several others I called didn't even return our calls. He was reasonable and efficient. Would definitely call him again.

D&J Heating and Cooling out of McFarland. I got the recommendation from here. They were GREAT, and also cheaper than Harker or Fowler where I also got estimates from.
Nancy N. replied:
I used High Tech Heating out of Cottage Grove. The owner is a LaFollette alum and they are great to deal with.
Can you recommend an exceptional HVAC company from the area? Someone with same-day service? Much needed and much appreciated! Thanks!
Matt I. replied:
I would HIGHLY recommend Mack Weaver at Seasonal Survival out of Sun Prairie (608-235-7176). He was extremely knowledgable, honest (repaired our furnace last year instead of trying to sell us a new one), and the least expensive on top of that. I recommend him every time this subject comes up because I was so impressed by him. Good luck!
Kandra B. replied:
Matt, I was just reading your glowing review of their Saturday service and reasonable price (with the Groupon). Thanks!
iso transportation
$12,345 - Milwaukee, WI
Looking for transportation recommendations in Milwaukee. We're looking for a trolley or a party bus with air conditioning....
My employer is looking for full time HVAC installers. Local installers (Milwaukee area) would most likely work directly with me. Positions available almost immediately....
