Head for the YASAWAS ...get Off the mainland!!.OARSMANS BAY LODGE or Blue Lagoon Resort are reasonable ..located on Nalova Bay on Nacula Island (pronounced Nathoola) ..stunning white white sand.. Lovely reef you can snorkel any tide right off the beach in front of both resorts .. .. Stunning sunsets ..!! Wonderful locals.. Beautiful swimming .. Also try Paradise Cove also in the Yasawa group of islands. All accessed via the Yasawa Flyer from Denarau ..just out of Nadi .

The Beachouse on the coral coast. http://fijibeachouse.com/ This place is totally amazing, affordable, lots to do. Amazing food and the people that own and work there will touch your heart. Also was where they filmed the last beauty and the geek show.

Denarui Island is awesome. LOTS of accommodation options and mainly 5 star. We stay at the Westin. Many options for dining and also with that can look at your costs and also what you feel like. Denarau is great as it is just a short cab ride to get the the airport and back. You can do as much or as little as you like. The Golf and Racquet club is great for casual dining and entertainment meals are great size and the price is good as well. We also had dinner at a few restaurants at the Port which is a $5 cab ride or a ride on the Bulla bus. I have done coral coast but i am not a fan of buffett meals and prefer to go somewhere different every night.

Savu Savu is also nice.as is Kadavu,.for reefs but the outer islands are expensive to get to, why i suggested YASAWAS or the Mamanucas both accessed from Port Denarau, via the Yasawa Flyer (catamaran) ..I've been traveling to Fiji often&lived there on&off the past 12 yrs and married a Fijian.. The mainland is serviced by carbon copied resorts you'd find all around the world.Big chlorine Pools &lounges.. Big brand resorts... get out to the islands to Fijian owned and run places..swim in the crystal waters around the outer islands. the beaches along the coral coast are not nice to swim at during low tide.
I'd like to find a little day spa/massage place on the range so I can treat my Mum... Want to support someone local but don't know where to go? Any suggestions??? Thanks...

Oh, Laura...THE place is Jenny Rathborne at Svelt Salon. Seriously stellar. A gift certificate for one of her facials will send her over the moon. She has a magic to what she does-super gifted!
