Can anyone recommend a professional mover/movers who would be interested in a cash job moving an upright piano about 40 metres from a storage container into our house?...

It's east to move a piano, if you know how, you may injure yourself if you don't. My suggestion is to remove everything not screwed down from the paino, fashion some harnesses from tow/snatch-strap, so that four strong men have the weight of the piano on their shoulders. Then fashion a smooth runway using plywood or scaffolding planks from the container to the house, most of the weight is only taken by the guys when you need to lift up steps, etc, but piano wheel are not designed to be strong enough to roll a piano along, so some of the weight is always borne by the lifters as someone else pushes it along. Alternatively you can roll it carefully along on short 2 inch scaffolding pipe, like Egyptians rolling blocks to the pyramids, when a pipe gets to the end, just pick it up and put it back under again at the front! I can recommend Jacinta Foale in Witta as a piano teacher for kids

Try Nigel Bland at Landsborough. He's the local piano removalist and tuner. Why not go to the man who's got the tools and experience if you value you instrument
Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to Hired Hands Maleny! They did an excellent job of moving all our stuff from Maleny to Beerwah. I was a bit concerned that morning...
