I delivered all three of my kids at BDF hospital. All 3 times I coincidentally had the same midwife. An amazing Bahraini lady called Hayat & she was wonderful during all three of my deliveries which were all very different. Dr Moza was my Dr. & she is amazing. My first daughter was induced & I also had an epidural - the Dr who gave it to me was fantastic. My second daughter arrived a little early & I had a very very speedy delivery. My midwife Hayat was very cool and collected - I was terrified at the prospect of delivering without an epidural as there was no time for one & she was a godsend. Dr Khalida delivered my baby as Dr Moza was away at the time but she called ahead and had arranged for my arrival at the hospital. My 3rd child was a whole other experience. I had a pregnancy complication which Dr Moza diagnosed & I needed to have surgery in my 12th week of pregnancy. She was very supportive & got me through to the end of my pregnancy where I was able to have my son at 38 weeks. The hospital is very well equipped to deal with emergencies and/or pregnancy complications. Dr Moza is exceptionally experienced. The largest downside is the wait times to see the Dr are very long but that aside I had a very good experience overall.
Mums, anyone know of a private midwife for birthing lessons. Thanks

I was with Dr Siti at RBH. I wanted a natural birth, but with pain relief available if I needed it. It wasn't a VBAC. I found her to be very open to my approach, as was Dr Asma who was also on duty with her during my labour. Pain relief wasn't forced on me, but was quickly offered when I wanted it (the opposite of my experience in the UK where I was basically told that it didn't hurt much yet and to stop being a baby.......). I was encouraged to walk about during the early stages, and allowed to get comfy during the later stages. There was some monitoring, but I was OK with. I can't remember about the thrid stage - I think I probably had the jab to speed it up, but that was OK with me - I didn't have it in the UK with my forst, and it took ages and was uncomfortable, s i just wanted it over with to be honest. No, I don;t think the cord was allowed to pulse out, but that wasn't something I asked for either, so maybe they would do it if it was discussed in advance? Importantly, they were also open and supportive of my choices on breastfeeding too. Hope this helps a little.

Dr Kiran at the Royal bahrain is the dr you need for that kind of birth. She encourages all that you have mentioned and is a believer in hypnobirthing
I gave birth one month ago with Dr Siti, natural birth, it was great

I had Dr Siti for my VBAC in the summer, only gas and air although I think that it was an easy (?) birth.

Dr Kiran RBH highly recommend. Just give one time visit to make you understand how great she is. Apart from her professionality, also as a person with amazing character. One time visit is all you need. Just had my natural delivery with her 1 month ago, and went all well. Good luck!

Hi Bonnie, we were with Dr Siti at the Royal Bahrain too. I spoke to her about having a totally natural birth with no pain relief, waiting for the cord to stop pulsing etc etc. She was very encouraging and happy to go with our wishes. I ended up labouring at home for most of it as we live very close to the hospital and only went in to deliver which worked out very well for us. Would definitely recommend Dr Siti.

Dr Siti did VBAC for a friend of mine. Also only gas and air for another friend. She did both of my c sections. Most recently for my twins. Great doctor. Listens to you and very caring.
Krithika K. replied:
Dr. Kiran at RBH is definitely my choice as she gave me complete confidence for natural birth esp with my first being a c sec and everything went on smooth as I wished and prayed. Believe all docs at RBH are extremely helpful in the obs/gyn dept.
