Personally I go to the ocean due to the ecoli and when it gets hot the more bacteria there is. Wallis Sands is nice if you don't mind the drive. 45 minutes from Manchester and they have showers and snack store. And you can walk out pretty far in the ocean before getting deep. And parking is only &10.00

With kids or no kids? 'The Beach' campground in North Conway on the Saco is a nice place, great location. Moose Hillock is very nice. Bayley's in Scarborough ME (Old Orchard). Really depends on what you're looking for, what you want to spend, and how far you want to travel.
