Good Morning. In need of a Family Law Solicitor for some advice on children/access matter. Can anyone recommend a firm. Thanks
Kathleen H. replied:
Cecile Black best family lawyer in darwin and I have been through many..he is not covered by legal aide but he is absolutely worth every cent if you can afford him.
Danielle D. replied:
Wouldn't recommend David Story. Have had really bad experience with him as well as my friend. But will recommend Wayne Connop. He is amazing and works together with one of the country's top barristers. Definitely worth checking out.
Ros S. replied:
David C Story worked well for me but it's a personal choiceDepends if you want a mediator or a pitbull
Sandi S. replied:
You can always try the Women's Legal service for advice and I'm not sure if it's still running but at the Palmerston Uni on Monday nights they used to have legal aid type service. Otherwise there is legal aid.Don't recommend David story either, my brother ended up defending himself to see his kids.
Tasha C. replied:
Would never use Wayne Connop for Children's matters!
Anyone know any good Lawyers who specialize in children please?

Damian Lennon.. You will have to go to a private lawyer who will then apply for Legal Aid for you..It is a conflict of interest for Legal Aid to represent both parties, but they will pay cost's to a private Lawyer to help you....
Melissa L. replied:
Actually Toni Jan is right. A private lawyer can apply for legal aid. But u must do mediation first.
Martin L. replied:
Actually Toni Jan is right when one parent has approached legal aid then it closes the door for the other party and you do have to go to a non legal aid lawyer, pay for first consult then they can apply for legal aid to cover further costs if you qualify but as i said mediation is mandatory and court is a last resort .
