Looking for pediatrician recomendations My wife and I are expecting in March and need to find a pediatrician. We live in Gahanna, so anything close would be a bonus....

We use their Dublin location, but there is a Rainbow Pediatrics located in New Albany as well. We're happy with both our son's primary doctor and the other docs in the practice that have seen him for walk-ins. Meant to add - They host a new parent meet & greet once a month where you can meet the docs and get questions answered, etc.

We have been with Dr. Dhawale at [Associated Pediatrics](http://www.copcp.com/practices/associated-pediatrics/practice-overview) in Westerville for four years now, ever since my son was born, and we couldn't be happier with her. She's awesome with kids and so is everyone else we have seen at the office. Plus they're great at getting us in the same day when my son is sick.

Mid-Ohio Pediatrics. Dr. Fulop is awesome. But I encourage you to do what we did: schedule appointments with a couple different ones and go talk to them. We talked to two or three different doctors before we made a choice. Have a list of questions of the things that are important to you. Things that you might want to consider: * Office hours. * How do they separate sick patients from well patients. * Their stance on vaccinations and antibiotics. We asked what they would say to us if we demanded antibiotics or decided not to vaccinate. * Whether the office has someone staffed on Saturdays and/or Sundays. * What the procedure and callback times are for calls outside of the normal hours. Finally, a visit to the office will reveal a lot of little things... cleanliness, how up to date their systems are, how many people are sitting in the waiting room, etc. All of that should give you a general "feel" for the office.

Pediatric & Adolescent Practitioners. They're in Gahanna, Beecher Road off of Hamilton. Dr. Lawrence Heiny has been my family's pediatrician for nearly 15 years. I agree with robaticus though, visit a few doctors and make sure you are comfortable.

I can only recommend my son's pediatrician in Puyallup. Dr. Michael Pearson at Rainier Pediatric. It's not the most up-to-date office and he's a bit odd but he's the nicest, most intelligent pediatrician I've met. On our first visit he gave us his personal cell phone number and told us to call whenever we had an issue we were concerned about, if it was after hours. I've called him twice now on his personal cell phone, he has answered both times, given me great advice / help both times and not charged me a penny for those calls. If you can look past the fact that he is frugal and his office doesn't look like he's spent money on it in the past 20 years... he's the best doctor around. I want the best pediatrician for my son, not for the interactions *I* or my wife have with him.

We see Dr James Schneller at Allenmore Children's Clinic. Nothing but good experiences there for us.

Theresa Clabots on Bridgeport. I don't have kids, but I saw her from the time I was two years old up to 18. I was born in another state and had a lot of complications; Clabots was recommended to my parents prior to our move.

Dr. Kevin Taggart in Puyallup he's part of Sound Family Medicine. Great doctor and very personable. He delivered both my kids and I have been seeing him as my GP for 15 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6QYVOjiXXzA

In the warmer months they will be opening their outdoor waiting room, where kids can stay active while they wait for their appointment!!
Mari G. replied:
We've used Kids' Choice Ped. They listen to the child and the parent. They are very honest and upfront. They have extended hours and designated same day sick blocks. Their office staff is amazing, and they were one of only a handful of doctors who accepted TriCare at the time of our move a few years ago.

In need of recommendations. I am moving to Killeen the end of December, my due date is in March and my husband doesn't report back from Afghanistan until March,...
Courtney B. replied:
Temple isn't that far. I drove to Round Rock for OB care (45 minutes each way). But there is Scott and White offices in Killeen and they deliver at Metroplex. Our Pedi is Dr. Drigalla, our kids are on standard. She is Belton and is with Scott and White. My husband is gone until that time and I plan on coming back to Hood after the holidays.:o)
Leanne B. replied:
I delivered my son at Metroplex in 2013 and will be delivering my daughter in January at Metroplex. I see Dr. Lewis. For pediatrician appointments I make the drive to Temple to see Dr. Burke I was originally seeing Dr. Homsi at the Killeen pediatric clinic and had a horrible experience with him, but I love Dr. Burke he is well worth the drive.
Kat C. replied:
My OB is Dr West at the Hemingway building and my daughter's pediatrician is Dr Avila at the Scott & White Killeen Clinic. I highly recommend both.
Sami C. replied:
OB care at Darnell is definitely lacking, I don't know how labor and delivery is since I switched to Standard and left at about 32 weeks. I went to Metroplex and saw Dr. Baylor. She was wonderful, the whole staff was.
Mary D. replied:
Dr Robert organ the best baby dr
Samantha M. replied:
Dr. West or Dr. Allerkamp. Scott & White Hemingway bldg in Killeen next to Metroplex hospital.
Angie R. replied:
Dr Lobaugh in Harker heights He delivers at metroplex. Great hospital
Yadie M. replied:
There is a Scott and white on killeen on clear creek road it's where I have birth in July and besides the religious "propaganda" lol it as a grey place ad Dr Kwan was great
Chelsea H. replied:
I had THE best experience at Darnall with my son. My midwife (who I had never met) was slightly pushy, but in the end, I realized everything she told me to do helped. And my nurse? Omg I absolutely loved her! She was wonderful. Everyone was very kind and very helpful. They all knew what they were doing and loved their job. I am actually nervous to have another somewhere else because I don't think I could have a better experience.

Jo W. replied:
We've been quite pleased with Briarpatch Pediatrics in Sandwich. I also agree with Ellie that Dr. Hooshmand is excellent. She treated my son when he was hospitalized for an illness, and I would not hesitate to take my children to her again.
April M. replied:
Dr Norenberg
Megan R. replied:
Dr. More berg is great! Love briar patch in sandwich. Never any pressures.
Anna J. replied:
My daughter see's Dr. Kaselis at Briarpatch and I really do like her. She doesn't pressure to vaccinate if that is your choice and is very accepting of delaying and slow going with the process as well. My only complaint would be that she doesn't seem t o take concerns seriously. I like that she is a non alarmist but as a mom sometimes you need to be told everything is okay, but sometimes we need to be taken seriously. I would recommend her but now and want to look into more of these doctors!
Ellie M. replied:
I also vaccinate slowly/co sleep/extenxed BF /holistic approaches and have never had to sign anything or have anything in writing. Dr Hooshmand has never pressured me into anything and my kids adore her she's got a great bedside manner with my girls. I suggest meeting the docs yourself as well but I can't say enough about Cape Cod Pedi.
Sarah S. replied:
Dr Heard Cape Cod Pedi i can't say enough about them
Kristen E. replied:
Depending on your feelings about vaccinations, Cape Cod Pediatrics may not be the place for you. They want a signed contract from all new patients agreeing to adhere to all current and future CDC's vax guidelines and offer very limited alternate sched ules and those need to be in writing as well. They won't see you without it. If you don't take offense to signing away the right to informed consent with each and every decision regarding your child's health, then they are great doctors. If your holistic approach is one that is more involved and informed then you may want a less restrictive practice to care for your child. It's a personal choice, and an important one - just thought you should know their requirements in case that's a deal breaker.
Sarah G. replied:
Briarpatch . Dr Norenberg smile emoticon
Jenny D. replied:
Dr. Hooshmand has always been respectful of my holistic approaches as the first option. I have my own herbal company and treat my children naturally much of the time and whether its garlic oil ear drops, calendula cream rather than steroids for hives, or in regards to vaccines, I think the world of her and the rest of the staff. Go with Cape Cod Pediatrics:)
Amanda S. replied:
Cape Cod Pediatrics is wonderful. I chose to vaccinate but not all at once. We spread the vaccinations out and they've never had an issue with it! They have given us numerous holistic suggestions as they know it's a part of our family lifestyle. They a re very respectful of your wishes as a parent! We have Dr. Hooshmand and have seen Dr. Heard as well. They also have a great emergency line which we've had to use and the off hours office in Falmouth was wonderful as well! Good luck smile emoticon
