Call Debbie Ray. 770-425-6267. She is awesome and loves dogs. She will stay at your house or stop by throughout the day to walk, feed, and play for a very reasonable price. She works near the square.

Any recommendations on the best place to donate tons of good baby/kid clothes and toys? Hospital, daycare, Goodwill, churches??
Kimberly K. replied:
If more people could be Thoughtful Givers, organizations a such as Must would not have to throw ANYTHING away. When people are inconsiderate and donate junk they themselves would not want as a person in need, charitable organizations wouldn't have to waste their energies to sort and trash. Donations should be gently worn or used. Why would someone down on their luck want another's nasty and damaged items? Be Thoughtful Givers. Ok, I'm done. Have a great day, folks.
John S. replied:
Foster Care Support in Roswell. All clothes and donations are given to foster children across the state (mostly surrounding counties). Nonprofit and great people.

I'll stick up for Goodwill. They provide some of the best job training services and job searching help in our community- and that resource for the the population they serve ( mostly people challenged with one or more special needs) is much needed. The people working there are in the various stages of their employment training programs. Check out Snopes.com if you need an update on that salary info, or www.charitynavigator.org which will let you see the tax filings for any non-profit you want to check out. By the way- if something is fixable or able to be mended, the trainees do it so that less is discarded.
Does anyone here have recommendations for a good, flexible day care? I'm looking for a place that charges hourly (or is similarly flexible); I work from home and will...

Depending on the hours you need First Presbyterian on the square has a wonderful Mothers Morning Out. It runs from 9-1 and charges by the hour very affordable. You can do a set thing (but if your child doesn't go they don't pay) or call as you need. I used them for years and they are wonderful.

Check with Kiddie Kollege - Roxie Anderson Stamper

First Methodist also has a MMO program. It is great! Very affordable- open 9-1 M-F, but you are limited to just 8 hours a week due to licensing restrictions. 770-429-7800 ext 7860

I'm not sure yet. I'm due in the beginning of November, and will have a 3 month maternity leave. The Church groups will be great for days when I've got a local appointment. But, I will have travel out of state every once and a while. For that, my husb and would need regular work hours covered. Mary Ingram-Finney I almost feel a little preemptive, but a few moms have said its good to get an idea of what options there are even before they're born!

Krystal Dillion -almost every other civilized country provides that, and up to 1 year paid maternity leave. In the US you have to go on short-term disability in most cases, earning about 1/2 during that time. First you have to exhaust all vacation days. I think moms deserve better, and I am not even a mom.
