Get a rental house, better than the hotels...try vrbo.com....have you read/seen Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil? If not, watch it for great ideas on places to visit...our favorite is Forsyth Park and Bonaventure cemetery....

Pirate House and warm pralines from River Street Sweets

Eat at Paula Deens Restaurant!! It is wonderful. The Paula Deen restaurant at Harrahs Casino is not nearly as good as that one. Also the trolley car historic ride is great!!

The Pirate House restaurant! Very cool place great food and history and your boys would love it! Take carriage tour, Midnight in the garden of good and Evil house is on tour plus the girl scout's lady/founder's house is on tour. It's a great walking city too! Love it!!

The Marriott is right on the water front and is walking distance to lots of the areas squares. There are so many good places to eat and things to do. Very historic city. Try to slip in and see St Johns church. It will take your breath away. Try to make a run to Tybee Island and eat at the Crab Shack. Also try to catch a single A baseball game. The Savannah Sand Gnats play at a stadium that is on the national historic register. People always say eat at Lady and Sons. I found it to difficult to get in and once we did get in the food was just ok. I really expected better food. Do the Old Town Trolley tour. It is touristy but you will learn a lot about the city's history.

We like to stay at the Hamton Inn on Bay ST. IT's across from River street. They have a pool. Don't waste your time on Paula Dean's restaurant unless you just want to stand in line and do the "Celebrity Thing". Your Mama cooks as good if not better. ( That's what my girls told me...your cooking is better, Mom.) Crab Shak out almost on Tibee is good seafood and very casual. WE love it The boys would like the tours with the horse carts. The beach is good, but it's a regular beach with gray Atlantic ocean water!!!! We love Savannah!

The Lady and Sons is really not worth the money. Greatly overpriced and just average food. We have better food in Maryville!

Uncle Bubba's is great ~ it is Paula Dean's brothers restaurant! The Crab Shack on the way to Tybee Island is really good food. Vinny Van GoGo's has really good pizza ~ it is downtown Savannah. You have to get cookies from Byrd's famous cookies ~ it is right down from Vinny Van GoGo's. enjoy!!
