I'm buying a property on a community in Playa del
Ingles Can anyone recommend an English speaking lawyer and how much will they charge?
Jim P. replied:
No problems Ian. If you want a British Spanish qualified lawyer you could try www.estandish.com who acted for our purchase here. She uses a local lawyer for actual attendance if required.
Marie L. replied:
NOTE Ana is Spanish and grew up in the USA so her English is perfect just like yours Ian Richardson

Ignacio Casteleiro Cullen on 2 nd floor, door D of Mecurio Tower 1 - speaks perfect English, Spanish and German - he is on the Official List of recognised Spanish Lawyers recommended by both The British Embassy and also on the Attorneys List of the U.S. Embassy and has represented us in two house purchases and several other legal matters over the last nine years of living here in Playa del Ingles. The staff all speak perfect English - tel 928 77 35 35. From experience ONLY use qualified registered lawyers .

I hope to be in the same position later on this year and have been making general enquires. I found a company JPD based in Puerto Rico the principal being an Irish lady called Jill Preston who may be of help. However I would be interested in any options available. I have no idea of costs, but as a general rule I believe you need to budget approx 10% of purchase price to cover ancillary costs. Good Luck.

Maria Carmen Rodriguez de Castro in Mercurio, Tower 2. Tel. 928778756 or 638798492. She has received many awards for professionalism and was voted lawyer of the year 3 years ago. She is fantastic and she has helped me a lot and saved me money. Also a friend (British) who went to see her by my reccomandation found her unbelievably strong. And that was in a personal matter, mine have been more with help with the red tape etc.
Eva H. replied:
Maria Carmen can seem to be rude, but she is honest and sticks to what she says. She has to shout and scream sometimes, she is a small woman who gets noticed. I love her
Anyone know of a lawyer ? we need one asap. Not Ignacio Casteleiro Cullen, he stringed us on for 3 months and then dropped us the week before the trial.
14 years ago he did ( Cullen) the same to us..... seems he is doing very well for himself! We always use Kanzlei Perez Alonso in cc sonnenland ground floor. He is very good.
Susan P. replied:
