E-Rock Construction and Beall Improvements both do good work, and both are registered Home Improvement Contractor's with the City of Massillon. You will want to get at least three estimates and generally, pay 1/2 down, 1/2 when complete. A Home Improvement Contractor or General Contractor should only do building/construction/remodeling work. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractors should do their own work. Steer clear from anyone claiming to be a handyman who does it all. In Massillon city limits, we require all contractors to be registered and to pull a permit for the job they are working on, which is for the homeowner's protection. If you'd like a list of all contractors who are registered with the City of Massillon, please call the Building Department (330) 830-1724 on Monday and someone can fax or email the lists to you. However, if your daughter's address is inside Perry Township limits, it would fall under the Stark County Building Department's jurisdiction, so you'd have to contact them. Good luck!
