Do you guys know any pediatricians who take Coventry cares that does walk ins besides Dr Hussain in mayfield? I need a second opinion.
Suzanne W. replied:
Dr. Carrico sees all ages but he isn't a pediatrician. He's a family doc

Jessica L. replied:
Call Murray Pediatrics!!! They are amazing and if it's afterhours....you call and the operator puts the actual DOCTOR on the phone within 3 or 4 minutes of holding. They are always there to answer questions. Took my daughter to Dr. Hussain and he was ok if she had a common cold. She was a preemie and had several issues. He acted like he had no idea what he was talking about! Wouldn't recommend Dr. Paul either. Sorry, but we had to see her when he was out of town, and I would not take my dog to her.
Mandy R. replied:

To each there own
Cheria G. replied:
I'm not from around here & just moved here in February. In march I had my now 6 month old. Dr.Hussain saved his life, he fought his pulmonary hypertension which got him sent to the Nicu... Which got them to find his air embolism. Everyone has their opinions, I personally would recommend Dr.Hussain.
Linda K. replied:
Dr. Paul... she is awesome!!!
Jordan M. replied:
Don't get me wrong I love Dr Hussain and his staff but I just want a second opinion
Lacinda C. replied:

Brittany C. replied:
I would never request Joyce Hughes but the nurse Amanda and Dr Burch aren't bad
Brooke L. replied:
Dr. Paul didn't help my daughter at all! She gave her 3 different antibiotics for ear infections and none of them helped. I switched to Dr. Austin in Murray and after her first visit it was better. My niece also went to her and she sent her home and said it was just a cold she would fight off on her own. That night she ended up in the hospital with phenomena.

Miranda Williamson Cook I know it's a drive.....but Murray Pediatrics is well worth it!! They are ALWAYS there for me...in person or on the phone! No matter what hour! They have been my rock when it comes to keeping my babies healthy and answering dumb questions from a scared mom There are a few diff dr's in there....Paisley and Link see them all. I actually love the Nurse Practitioner just as much They are open on saturdays as well!
Jessica T. replied:
My son's main doctor is Anna lee Paul, however last winter he would get sick every single month and she would always day sinus Infection and send us home with antiobiotics. It wasn't until I went to Dr. Hussin, that I found out that his tonsils and adenoids were so swollen they were taking up the back of his throat and nasal canal. If we wouldn't have taken him for a second opinion with Dr. Hussin, he would still be having issues. I can honestly say that my son hasn't been sick since his surgery and removal of his tonsils and adenoids. And I thank Dr. Hussin big time!
Nicole U. replied:
Dr Paul
Jordan M. replied:
Yes a second opinion is always good if you feel the need for it which I did, I love Dr Hussain and his staff but I felt like my 8 month old was being given too many meds for her not to get any better
Juli B. replied:
Would NOT recommend carrico he gave my son antibiotics for mono. .i had waited to see if my son s sickness would get better then i went to carrico...he always says we can do 3 things this time here were the 3 choices: watch it, blood work, or medicine. He was like we can watch it, but i had already. I wanted blood work he was like no lets do meds. Well the antibiotics were pointless for that and killed off all good bacteria and cause chemical burn on his bottom and possibly thru stomach and intestines and chronic constipation. It took about 3 yrs to heal his stomach and he still has some problems. I recommend Dr Roach!! He is great!
Just found out the news that my kids pediatrician is moving out of state. So who is the best pediatrician in the Murray area??

Jasemine C. replied:
Dr Burch. Murray pediatrics put my hospital in the son for a week and then sent him home saying he was fine and never completely treated him. We went to dr burch for a second opinion and come to find out he had bronchitis. This was a month after he left Vanderbilt due to his lungs not being development. And we was seeing dr foster, dr milo and dr Austin and none of them caught the bronchitis in his lungs.

Jennifer H. replied:
I take my kids to Primary Care for a cold or something simple like that. It's a quick in and out for an antibiotic. Those people would miss a serious diagnosis if it jumped up and slapped them. My son has battled ADHD and ODD his whole life. I wasted 6 months with Dr Burch. I found Dr Milo at Murray Peds and she has been amazing. Dr Burch does not manage ADHD (I asked her what she wasted her money at medical school for when we waited 3 months for his original appointment when no one bothered to tell us that). Dr Milo is from New Zealand and she was taught in a place that you can't send your kid to the next doctor bc they may be 8 hrs away (her exact words). That let me know...no matter how long it took she would see him through. And 6 months later, the schools and I are both very pleased with his progress. We still have rough days, but she helped me get my baby back.
Tammy N. replied:
I've never had a quick in and out at Primary Care. You get an appointment and the wait an hour after that time.
Rikki H. replied:
Dr. Burch is the best!!!! When I lived in Paducah I drove back here to bring them to her. She's been my pediatrician since I gave birth to my 11 year old and I don't trust anyone else to care for my kiddos like her.

Tosha C. replied:
I personally do not care for Dr. Joyce Hughes. She was my daughters pediatrician after birth. For a straight 3 years she kept saying my daughter did not have a umbilical hernia after my mom and I was sure that was what it is. We decided to try out Dr. Burch. The first time she ever saw my daughter, she noticed it right off the bat and sent her in to have the proper testing to be sure. Sure enough, it was a hernia. Surgery was scheduled and thankfully my daughter has not had problems since thanks to Dr. Burch. That's the first case....then, another time during the 3 years of using Dr. Hughes...she misdiagnosed my daughter with just having a basic cold...my daughter went to her dads for the weekend and came back within a few hours afterwords burning up with fever and barely able to breathe. I knew something was not right. I took her to dr. Burch to have her seen about. She was diagnosed with RSV> Yes...you heard me RSV! How in the world can a doctor misdiagnose that for the common cold? If it had not been for Dr. Burch coming to her rescue, I am not sure what could've happened and it scares me to even think about it. Third, my same daughter as the incidents above...was having trouble in school. I was trying everything in my power to help her succeed and get the help she needed, but something was just not adding up. She could get hard stuff, but the easy stuff was like she just couldnt get it. Such as she could work a simple algebra problem...in 4 th grade, but could not do a basic multiplication problem. I tried everything under the sun that you can think of to help her. Nothing was helping. I decided to have her evaluated by Dr. Burch and the counselor at her school. Sure enough, my daughter was diagnosed with ADD. She is extremely gifted and talented. Can do up to some 11 th grade math and she is currently only in the 5 th grade, she just couldnt concentrate on what she was doing due to distractions. Thankfully Dr. Burch came to her rescue. My daughter was seriously falling behind in school, grades were terrible, etc. With Dr. Burches help and guidance...my daughter is now a straight A student and has greatly exceeded everyone's expectations! I highly recommend Dr. Burch as I personally have had nothing but good experience with her that exceeds beyond expectations! She is truly amazing! Sorry, for the long details, but I feel like as a parent...you need to know why people suggest certain doctors and not just who they chose. Thanks and hope this helps!:)

Best pediatrician in mayfield or close by? I do NOT want someone that is a rude judgemental assuming asswipe. (This is the reason im looking for a new doctor)
Naomi B. replied:
We really like the PA/NP that works with Dr Joyce Hughes (Primary Care). I can't think of her name. She is competent, thorough, listens and discusses illness history, discusses options, is part of decisions does not make them for the patient. She has not been judgmental at all.
Edwin R. replied:
We really like all the staff with Dr Joyce Hughes at Primary Care. I switched all three of our kids from Mayfield to there.
