I just used Hardy Board/plank for the first time for anything. I used it on the porch we turned into a sun room. It's heavier than masonite or vinyl, but thinner. It has to be painted like wood and that would be about the biggest down side to me. But, when you have vinyl, you can't change the appearance or color very easily.....
