Recommendations for junk removal? If anyone has had any positive experiences with local junk removal companies, I could use some recommendations.
First two companies I...

Not what you asked, but I'm always pleasantly surprised by what the city's trash trucks will take. I doubt they'd take the whole shed in one go-round, but if you put out a little bit each week (in bags or barrels), I bet they'd take most everything. I did something similar when I was doing some work in the basement. Otherwise, I'd recommend a Bagster from Home Depot. Flat rate pricing, and assuming your stuff can fit into 1-2 bags easily, its not too expensive.

1800 got junk is reliable, and they do a good job. But somewhere along the way their prices shot through the roof. I don't believe they advertise their costs which is also a big problem. Wasn't sure what it was going to cost until they showed up to haul away, and at that point they are already there so what are you going to do. I'm sure they have lots of drivers/workers though, so your experience could be different. But the two kids who showed up for me were great/quick. There has to be cheaper options though.

Had to update: I definitely got discouraged too soon. Next place I called (the 3 rd), happened to have a truck very close by. Showed up just 15 minutes after making the call and did the job very quickly and efficiently - and way cheaper than what I expected to pay! [MassJunk.com](https://MassJunk.com) \- can't recommend them highly enough. Probably the best experience I've had with hiring any kind of help. Just a lucky coincidence that they happened to be so close and available, but still - what a great experience. Just one hour from making the call to getting the job done to posting rave review on Reddit! :)

I know someone locally who does this on the side (I know him because our kids were on same soccer team in elementary school). DM me if you’d like his number. I’ve only used him to take old things that have some minor value (e.g. old furniture, old appliances). Not 100% sure he takes trash. But you could ask him. Super nice guy.

It could be they blew you off because your junk pile was a little small. I’ve used Courtney dumpster, and they’re great to deal with. If it’s two small piles, I’d recommend going to Home Depot and buying a Bagster bag.

Thanks for the replies. The job is getting the piles to the street. It's about 30 yards from the back corner of my backyard to the near end of my driveway. It's at least a 3 person job to get it done in a reasonable time. I could rent a dumpster and hire the labor, I'm sure it'd be cheaper, but I'd rather hire a company that does it all. Not desperate enough to try 1800GotJunk - yet. I'll make some more calls, maybe the first two were flukes. Thanks again.
