Looking to take a day/night trip to nearby beach with 2 young kids. Anyone have any recommendations for which beach? Where to stay? I'd guess beach proximity to hotel...
Renee B. replied:
Ocean city nj for its alcohol free family atmosphere, Boardwalk with arcades and rides and food and The Beach Club Hotel is right on the boardwalk that has its own pool and restaurant.

Love, love, love OCMD! Very family friendly! And the seagulls aren't nearly as hostile as other beaches. We stay at Park Place and Paradise Plaza. Both are right on the boardwalk. Everything is in walking distance- beach, rides, shops and great food. https://www.facebook.com/parkplacehotel/ https://www.facebook.com/ParadisePlazaOC/

Not the closest (2 hours,) but I love Rehoboth with young kids. The playland there is definitely geared to the younger crowd and the boardwalk and restaurants are very family friendly. We've always stayed at The Atlantic Sands or The Avenue Inn. Both very close to the beach.

Oc NJ has lots to do for children that age. Check out TripAdvisor.com for hotel ratings.

OC Maryland! Lots of places right on beach! A little farther than NJ, but I'm a Maryland girl. Lots of options, just a few. This one has a pool bar, my husband loves that, my little one loves it too. http://www.holidayinnoceanfront.com/ http://mobile.castleinthesand.com/#home Also love Rehoboth, but beach area small so gets really crowded. Nice walkable town, small Boardwalk.
Considering a few days in New York City with my wife and two children, 10 and 8. Looking for some hotel recommendations. Thanks!

The Fort Lee Doubletree is very reasonable. Then take their shuttle across the GWB for $10. Drop-off at the Hilton on 52 nd and 6 th. It runs every 4 hours-$10 each. I go with a group. $119 is our rate. Nice rooms, lobby and in-house restaurant. Indoor pool.

Avoid The Americana - the bathrooms are shared

Have stayed at many during the years as we always see what deals are on Travelzoo. Read TripAdvisor reviews too. Last month stayed at the Affinia Dumont on 34 th St. 10 minute walk from Penn Station and 5 minutes from Empire St Bldg. Walked to Times Square, etc. Largest room we've ever had in Manhattan.
Ronnie M. replied:
The Pennsylvania is right across the street from Grand Central/Penn station. It's centrally located and frequently has deals on trivago. We're in Manhattan often, any of the other suggestions are good, too. One thing you must do with the kids - have breakfast at the Brooklyn Diner (near Times Square) it's so great and guaranteed they will hear a multitude of languages from every other table. It's such a cool experience!
Anyone have info on the potential hotel they want to build on old state road by the Iron workers bank ? Seems unnecessary.
Rebecca C. replied:
We'll be there on the 22! No way there needs to be a hotel there. The Hampton Inn is enough in the town
Carl A. replied:
in aggregate.....this is a very large property. Im not a builder and i dont know what sort of room is needed to build anything. That being said the 5 lots together are more than 275 x 257. With 275' of frontage on State Rd and a little over 150' on Summer St. Theyve been owned by the same owners for some time and transferred together. Previously owned by AJK Inc which also operated as the Little Inn. I dont think this is the same Aria you are thinking of. There are two previous LLC's which look like holding companies.
Carl A. replied:
all 5 properties are owned by Aria Hotels LLC West Chester since September.
Ed R. replied:
Hmm... Aria Hotels LLC is a Pennsylvania LLC formed last August. Their business address is the same address as the Sentinel Motel on Route 202 in the West Chester area. I'm curious about what their development idea is...
