The White Horse is lovely. Went there the day after we got married with our best man before he had to go back to Germany. Beautiful atmosphere and beautiful food. Nothing was too much trouble. As a side note - I supported people at work to order pizza last week from Pizza Go Go and saw on their menu they offer vegan food! I was pleasantly gobsmacked! X

Might try that one day, but not for Anniversary meal. I've heard it's good too. We only just had a family meal at The Cumin club in Rochester. But I wouldn't recommend that - despite being very clear with the waiter about our vegan-ness, he served a curry to Rich - swilled the spoon around in it and said - 'you know this has cream in it', like Rich ordered it on purpose! When he asked to see the menu, the waiter pretty much refused, so he ordered a veg madras. (I checked the menu on the way out and the description made no mention of cream). We took our tip away.

His name was John Frank but he wasn't a sherrif, just a village cop. Back in the late 60 s if you belonged to AAA you could get a trip pick if you were taking your family on vacation. It would show you where the quickest route was, motels, filling stations, road construction, points of interest, etc. They used to route cars around Donnelsville as it was a known speed trap.
