Financial advisors? Looking for a new financial advisor. I don't have a major portfolio or anything, just looking for help to plan financially for some goals....

Unless you have some very unusual financial circumstances (large inheritance, insurance settlements, other large cash windfalls) you don’t need to pay a financial advisor. Spend a couple hours on /r/personalfinance and you’ll be well on your way. Right now there’s a post on the front page about Warren Buffett winning a bet that low-cost index funds would outperform actively managed hedge funds over a 10 year timeframe. Money managers don’t give you an edge, you’re actively paying somebody to deliver less performance than the markets at large would garner.

If you work for a company that matches a percentage of your 401 k contribution, match that first. With additional cash you should then max out a Roth IRA. Remaining cash should be invested in a brokerage account of your choice (I recommend Robinhood because of 0 trade fees). Put your first 10 k into an index fund (like the S&P 500). After that you can start thinking about picking specific companies to invest in. If you want a more hands off approach you can pick a mutual fund, but you will pay a small fee to have someone else handle your money. I’m assuming you are really far away from retirement, in which case you want high risk high reward assets.

I agree with Toast_Chee that DIY is good if your situation isn't unusual and you are patient enough to self-educate just a bit. If that sounds right, check out https://www.bogleheads.org/ -- in particular the wiki but also the forum.
