If you don't want a chain than go to The Coffee Shop next to Joe's Farm Grill on Ray / Higley. Coffee Rush is a very small chain, maybe 3 or 4 in the east valley.Coffee Rush is a great place to go. There is also Bold Roost is on Higley / 202.

Higher Ground Roastery has the best Iced Coffee (a true Toddy - Cold brewed). They also have some delicious menu items. As far as atmosphere and food we love The Coffee Shop. Love the inside and outdoor area. You an also take a walk through the community garden, buy something from their fruit/veggie stand or go next door to Joes Farm Grill and get a food item or milkshake there. Great area to hang out.
