Hunters Head Tavern. It's owned by Ayreshire Farm. http://www.huntersheadtavern.com/HuntersHead/HHHome.html
Jayne T. replied:
Hunters Head is great, but is definitely more on the casual side. Consider Goodstone and Ashby Inn as well if you're looking for more of a celebration meal. Ashby in particular has really inventive, delicious food and a lovely, quiet atmosphere. Hope you have a lovely anniversary.
Sarah M. replied:
Red Fox Inn. Very intimate, romantic, and classy.

If you're looking for a memorable evening - Goodstone Inn, hands down. All the others are good - Goodstone is 'Top of the Mark'.

[Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens](https://www.jacksonvillearboretum.org) has a number of picnic tables in a nice opening right by its entrance. It's about 15 minutes due East of downtown but in terms of natural beauty in Jacksonville I'm not sure it can be beat.

Any recommendations for local restaurants in Middleburg or Purcellville with gluten-free lunch options? Extra bonus points if they're kid-friendly as well.
Julia E. replied:
Hunter's Head and IJ Cann's is gluten free - Purcellville. Also there is a hot dog place in Purcellville called Haute Dogs! smile emoticon

Teddy's pizza is a block south of 50 just east of the Middleburg stoplight. Might want to call to make sure he's open 540-687-8880. WK kitchen is at the new roundabout in Purcellville, in the Harris Teeter shopping center. They have gf salads, but if the kids don't adore salads, might want to ckeck the menu for gf kids. Magnolias does do burgers on gf bread but no dedicated gf prep either.

Haute Dogs is a little hole in the wall place in Purcellville. Ate there a couple weeks ago, and loved it! Next time we're bring the kid, it was such a cute place. Super yummy!

I took my Celiac mom to Red Fox Inn with success. She asked a lot of questions and selected a meal that would be prepared in the safest way and she got something that was very good and didn't cause a reaction.
Melissa G. replied:
WK Hearth, great gluten free options and super kid friendly!
Leah C. replied:
Red Fox Inn has a rainbow trout that is gluten free. Common Grounds has chinn's chicken salad on greens and sometimes a soup of the day and little cakes. I don't know of any restaurants with dedicated gf prep area.
Does anyone know which Chinese restaurant in South Riding delivers to Middleburg? Kim Shelly did you tell me you knew one?
Elizabeth M. replied:
Chyna Berben its so silly to me that most of the places in haymarket wont deliver, its seriously 15 minutes... of course I didnt grow up with delivery, so its like the equivalent to me staying at a Ritz Carlton in the Presidents Suite.... but, it does blwo my mind that 15 minutes is such a huge deal to restaurants!

At a town meeting a few weeks ago, Mr. John Gulick himself stated they will offer American cafe fare as well as some Australian and South American delicacies. They will close at 7 pm, however, so plan accordingly! Glad to have a new business in Aldie.

I don't know if they would go for it but if it's going to be in the spring you could ask about the dining hall and Miss Charlotte's Garden at The Foxcroft School. The kitchen staff can prepare really great food, but again, I don't know if they would go along with it but it's worth asking. Beautiful 500 acre campus established in 1914.
