Hate dentists but need one, who would you recommend? Have one of those phobias where I'm scared to go..

Trang Pauline Nguyen DDS. I hate the dentist too. She never makes me feel guilty or lectures me for my very sporadic visits. She does great work and good at not causing pain. She rescued my wife when she was having a dental emergency after another dentist screwed up my wife’s tooth worse by breaking a dental tool on it and getting it lodged in her gums.

Japantown Dental is great. They are nice and aware of all insurance situations and make sure you benefit the most with any spend you may have.

Dr Rottjakob our in Almaden, my whole family has used him for more than a decade, can HIGHLY recommend him. He's especially good with people who don't go to the dentist often or hate visiting the dentist, especially for major procedures. https://stephenrottjakobdds.com/

I always trusted dentists until I met a guy who was a dentist and changing to become IT. He would tell horror stories of many dentists taking advantage and outright lying to patients about services needed or actually performed. I never thought that they would be such sleazes. So I became fearful of being taken advantage of in addition to being terrified of the dentist. 40% off standard price of services. Most insurance accepted. Building is new, clean, secure. Very, very white and clean with some light green. Parking across two lane street with signal light to cross. Public transportation is one block away. Equipment is new, state of the art, can't be found at standard dentist offices. Television while the work is done. X-Ray is amazing. Two minutes and you are done. Evening hours, weekend hours, emergency services, pediatric services, patients with phobias are common. All work is done by advanced students and every single step is certified by licensed dental instructors. They swipe their identification badges through the computer to approve. Computer won't let them advance until instructor approves. One of the top dental schools in the country if not the top school. Will never go anywhere else now that I found them. People have come from Los Angeles for services here. And don't have to worry about being scammed with poor work, no work, upselling, or lies. [http://www.dental.pacific.edu/](http://www.dental.pacific.edu/) How often do you actually go to the dentist? So convenience of location is not really an issue? Now if I could only find other service providers as great as they are...Sigh. Edit: As a school, all their procedures are overseen by state licensing. Never a need to worry about work that is not needed or poorly done takes away lots of worry.

ALL Dentist's are Scammers. They will ask if you have insurance ? If YES they will charge you initially $100 , Bill insurance company $ 500,insurance company pays them $200 and they send you a letter that you still owe them $200. If NO that procedure would cost $500. DENTISTRY in USA is fraudulent health business practice.

Los Gatos Dental Group is where I ended up when I was terrified of going to a dentist. (Previous dentist was a sadistic a-hole.) These guys are great and have no problems making sure that you feel nothing. The office is way high tech and they also have lasers, which is an awesome way to get a cavity filled without a shot! I fell asleep during a root canal once. You can't go wrong with them.

I was in the same boat as you back in 2015. Hadn't visited a dentist in 10+ years, hated the idea of going, etc. Then I found Dr. Trung Pham in Rose Garden area of SJ. He is phenomenal. Super attentive to your apprehensions about the dentist, super knowledgeable, genuinely interested in your dental health. Starts with a questionnaire that asks you, the patient, what level of depth you want to go with your dental work, whether it's just maintenance to keep your teeth clean to full on restorative work. Dr. Pham formulates a plan, shares each step with you so you're clear on what's being done, and is up front with you about the costs and how much is covered by insurance. He never lectures, but aims to educate more than anything. I can't recommend him strongly enough, and that's from someone who never liked the dentist until now.

I’m the same, and I am currently looking, too. I haven’t been in years and know I’m in bad shape. Here are my criteria: 1. Will not lecture me at all. 2. Will understand that it’s a big step for me to even be in the chair with my mouth open. 3. Will sedate me, even for a deep cleaning. 4. Will not tell me to floss more than once, because we all know that. 5. Will sedate me. 6. Wont say, “Holy shit, yuck-mouth!!!!!”

I had the worst toothache in the world and decided to ask the next person l saw if they liked their dentist and he said he did, very much, so l saw him that day. 12 years later, my grill is feelin' good and l still see him twice a year! He's so good, l can fall asleep during any procedure! Forgot to mention his name, duuuh: Dr. Henry Chang, at Aborn and White. lt's way out of my way, but worth it!
