Does anyone have a Milwaukee-area auto body shop that they've had a good experience with? May just use the dealer but wanted to see if anyone has suggestions. Thanks!

Mander Auto Collision, 1604 Manhattan Dr, Waukesha, WI 53186 (262) 446-0655 - It was recommended by a friend years ago, she said the owner is a good Christian. He fixed my Suburban a few times, great, reliable repairs and didn't overcharge.
Charles F. replied:
Chris Zdroik at Prestige Auto Works. Talked me out of buying a new bumper before the winter, and took out some nasty lime rust spots free of charge.

Our squads go to Don's which is near the PD and Hale. I unfortunately had to go there once as well. http://www.donsautobodywa.com/
can anyone recommend a good, reliable and trustworthy auto body shop? (oil changes, minor repairs, tire rotation, brakes, etc) Thanks!
Randy M. replied:
On a brighter note to all of this I want to give a shout out to Jake at Riverwest Auto. Others have already sung his praises here and I just want to say that he has always been professional, courteous, a real straight shooter and I haven't been dissapointed with his work. He's a busy man but I would recommend him if you can get in.

RK Motors has been very good to my family especially working with my elderly dad they are honest and go the extra mile for their customers.

David Jones: Can Tony supply a written repair order signed by my wife or myself? Can he even supply a written estimate signed by my wife or myself? He was never given a go ahead to perform any work and the first we heard of any costs was when my wife was called, told what time the car would be ready and what the price would be. We were never given a written estimate and never gave a go ahead for the work to be done. For Downtown Auto Body and your husband Tony to go ahead and perform the work was against the law. I've worked for two dealerships and I know consumer protection laws. Downtown Auto Body and your husband Tony were in the wrong. If he were in the right he would of have had legal grounds to hold the car on a mechanics lean for payment. He knew he had no legal ground to stand on and gave us the car back but took his revenge by leaving the car unlocked on the street with the keys in the ignition where it could easily be stolen and for good measure if that didn't happen the lights were turned on to drain the battery in near zero degree weather. To perform unauthorized work was unprofessional and actually illegal and to leave the car in the state it was found in was childish and petty. I will stand by my comments. DO NOT PATRONIZE DOWNTOWN AUTO BODY. My opinion based on past experience.

RK Motors on Holton
Randy M. replied:
NO DO NOT TRY Downtown Auto body! They tried to scam my wife out of money for unauthorized repairs. They started working on her car when all she wanted was an estimate, they had nothing in writing and when I called about it Tony read me the riot act screamed, and swore at me, said we weren't getting the car back till we paid for the (unfinished) repairs they had already done. After I theratened to call my attorney and reminded him his actions were illegal he relented and said the car would be on the street to pick up after 5:00 pm. When we got there the car was parked on Holton street, the keys were in the ignition with the doors unlocked and it had been sitting long enough with the headlights on to drain the battery on one of the coldest days of the year. When we were there giving the car a boost Tony came out and swore at me and threated physical harm to which I once again mentioned my attorney and he then backed off as he crossed the street calling me every name in the book. I would not do business with this man if he were the last auto repair shop on earth.
Jason M. replied:
I've always had a good experience with Downtown Auto Body, but then again, I don't know anything about cars. The O'Reilly Motor Cars (not related to the auto parts chain) on 3 rd and Cherry was also very nice to me.
David J. replied:
Mr Randy McPhail. I just spoke with my husband Tony and he remembers the situation quite differently. You left the car to get repaired and then pretended differently. I will take the high road and leave it at that. Tony is the most honest man I have ever met. He does not have a dishonest bone in his body and would never scam anyone. In fact I know many many people who owe him money because he mistakenly was so generous and honest. Tony grew up on Dousman Street and his dad ran Tony's Place on center street. We still live in Riverwest. He is a Riverwester through and through.
Sura F. replied:
Tony at Downtown Auto Body has been good to me. I trust him because he's done good work, he lives in the neighborhood, he's always been honest.
Jessica N. replied:
Riverwest Auto on Keefe!!! (if you have a VW. although, I think he does work on others too)
Wendy M. replied:
I love Reliable Auto on MLK
Steve T. replied:
I've had good luck at Downtown Auto Body. It's on the 3400 block of Holton.
Desmond J. replied:
Downtown on Holton is the best body shop in the area. Jake@Riverwest Auto is probably the best mechanic for hire in the city but only works on VW/Audi products. John the Muffler Man on Wells is really good, but a little bit of a drive.
Hi all, looking to replace my passenger side mirror on a newer (2014) Honda Civic. Does anyone have recommendations for auto body repair shops that can do it for me?
