Looking for a preschool (for a 3 year old) that isn't super expensive and isn't set up as a daycare. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Heather M. replied:
Immanuel Lutheran preschool is awesome! One of the best! I don't belong to their church. They are open to all denominations, have great teachers, very organized. 3 year olds have class T and TH. You can chose morning or afternoon (depending on what openings they still have). Price is around $65 per month...my daughter went there for two years. My niece is starting there in a couple weeks.................and being an elementary school teacher myself, I am very picky!

Lil Griz is fantastic! Both my kids went there and loved it! They both test well above grade level and I owe it all to them as I am a busy working mom!! Highly recommend!

UCCC Preschool has openings right now and is a parent co-op that is preschool only (not attached to childcare or daycare), and has been running 50+ years. Price is excellent and the teaching staff is incredible warm and caring.
Let's talk childcare. Or scroll past if you don't care.

I've had friends who have great luck with hiring students from the job board in the UC as part-time nannies. There are also nanny websites that you can use (caregiver.com, I think). Good luck!!

I'm pretty biased, but Sunflower Montessori is a pretty great place to be.

Hey, Deke... my son works at Quick Paws! I didn't take him to a kennel when he was little, though. It's just a coincidence....
Katie K. replied:
Evie went to sunflower for a few months. We liked them but they were not flexible with my nurses schedule (2 days per week but various days each week) The Growing Tree is great (much cheaper than sunflower, flexible and all the kids parents are super nice (and clean/with jobs and nice cars;) which says something for daycares in this town which can be pretty sketchy!)
Wichita friends, anyone have child care recommendations in or near Andover?
Cristy K. replied:
I know a lot of people use Central Christian Church on Rock Road. Ask Kami Murphy.
Adrea K. replied:
Go to childstart.org and go to parent resources and then search for providers in Andover. I found about 20 in Andover, as we live near there: day care centers and in home providers.

I don't know exactly on the cost but you could get quotes from people on care.com I think it would be totally worth it to have somebody take care of everything during the day including driving kids to and from sports and camps and what not. We wouldn't do it for a year or so since Keira is still young.
