I use Maid Brigade. They're alright. They show up on time and the company is bonded and insured in case anything happens to my house while they're there, but I've never been blown away by the cleaning. It's clean, just not *super* clean. But, they do a good enough job that I can't be bothered to look for a replacement. And they don't use harsh products, which means I don't have to worry about my two cats licking or ingesting something poisonous while the maids are there. That was a big selling point for me.

I use Molly Maid. They do a realyl good job, always show up on time, and always call the day before to let me know what time slot they will be showing up to do.

www.easycleanmaid.com is kind of nifty, like Uber for house cleaning services. They're based locally and if I recall were active here on reddit a while back.

Yes, try www.care.com or have your friend check there. The members that are registered have a background check done that may be useful to screen out applicants that you may not want in your home. ;)
