I used to work for an insurance company in Moncton and what most ppl don’t know is that everything a dentist does to a patient has a corresponding code (ex extraction of teeth 0755) . These codes are what help them bill the insurance companies. In Nb there is a provincial guide to what dentists “should charge” for each and every code . However it is up to the dental office what they would like to charge (sometimes double the price depending) therefore your insurance only covers what this guide states is a reasonable cost for the service. Get the dental offices assistant to call your insurance company or electronically send what is called a “pre determination” and it’ll tell you before any work is done what you’re paying out of pocket . Also gives you a scope of how greedy your dentist is . I always ask “do you charge above the fee guide for that service “. Good luck

OK, so I've chipped one of my teeth, which means I'm going to have to go to the dentist. Where I haven't been in 10-ish years. Give me some recommendations, please....

Go to mine - I chipped my tooth too and he did a reasonable patch that didn't cost me much and you wouldn't even notice. Dr. Alan LeBlanc on Weldon. Amazing.

Surely dentists are in need of a massage, no? All that standing around, leaning over in awkward positions, not to mention the drilling! Barter, woman, barter! Hope it's not causing you too much pain. X
