Italy here - mmh, I guess they are pretty well known, but MaxMara and especially its labels Marella, Pennyblack, iBlues, MAX&Co . I am an enthusiast of their dresses. I also like some of the long dresses of the Roman brand Souldaze and of Malialab. I found out about the spanish brand of eco fashion TWOTHIRDS recently - high quality, comfy, maritime clothes with and extensive FAQ about their production and sustainability. The French brand Coco Frio sellst expensive but beautiful and fair-made swimsuits; the blouses of Sezane (France) are well made with a lot of attention to details, but you have to check the materials.

Dutch person here. You can pry Hema/zeeman basics from my cold dead hands. For a completely different direction, I also love Paul Noyen. None of their stuff is overly exciting as it is quite minimal but it is really good quality and I have always received wonderful service at their stores.

In New Zealand, we have AS Colour for basics, which is pretty transparent about developing ethical supply chains (judging from the lengthy sections on their website about responsible production). Don't know if anyone outside of the country aware of it but here brand is quite well regarded.

Mexican big brands [Ivonne](https://www.ivonne.com/): hit or miss [Julio](https://julio.com/?SID=d5m939ijvnfh8ekkll76mpibd3): good quality, professional attire oriented [Flexi shoes](https://www.flexi.com.mx/es/): GREAT for basics. The "trendier" stuff is always kinda tacky but the basics are everlasting. Soft leather, great arch support, incredibly low price. Canadian here, I love Le Chateau. A bit too trendy sometimes, but often has decent basics that are not frumpy. Quality is sometimes iffy (again mostly on the trendy items), but their Made in Canada line is great! Roots is also really nice for full grain leather bags, wallets, and shoes. Roots clothing is also a bit hit or miss for quality, but there's nothing quite so cozy as a Roots hoodie :).

Britain here. If you like vintage style clothing. Try sister Jane and miss patina.

Australian here: I love Nancybird. Natural fibres, bright colours in unique prints, very boxy cuts. I believe they are also an ethical company. Their knits in particular are amazing.

Taiwan: Queen Shop (trendy & cheap) ASO shoes (high quality leather shoes) Similar to Gap: NET, Giordano, Bossini (I think the latter two are HK brands)

kookai: Good quality, lovely dresses, best to shop the sale section, from Switzerland? Naf Naf: Trendy and not that expensive clothes (Tshirt not more than 25 Euro), from France kiabi: cheap, trendy clothes (Tshirt about 7 Euros), French company Promod: summer dresses and good sweaters.

I really love Latvian brand called “Guntina”. Wonderful colorful and flattering dresses. I own like 4 already. And they have pockets! They are on etsy and also have a website.

Okay so I’m American but I lived in France for a while and there were three brands I fell in love with: Sandro, Maje, and Claudie Pierlot. Sandro and Maje are sometimes sold at high end department stores in the UK and I think might have stores in the US in New York City, but Claudie Pierlot is not. These clothes are rather expensive but I’ve found some on Poshmark. I have no idea how well they are known over here but I’d never heard of either until I moved to France. To me, these brands are the epitome of chic and elegant French style. They are also very well made. Simple and classic but with unique touches. There are no US stores that hit the mark for me quite like these brand do. ETA [this](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B_ArsahU8AAcK1I.jpg) is Lily James wearing one of Maje’s most popular dresses. The clothes are just so beautiful and well-made.

American here, but I spent a couple of years in Shanghai for work/study abroad. KappAhl from Sweden - the plus size section always yields me a few pieces. I'm sad that our trip to Sweden is off this year because I won't be able to pick up some bits. They don't deliver outside Scandinavia sadly. Seasalt Cornwall - love the cuts so much - very flattering. I'm not always in the mood for the prints, I'm not a prints person but they are lovely dresses. I wish they'd make some of their dresses in plain colours. Long Tall Sally basics keep me going - T-shirts, leggings and tights and occasionally other bits.

UK - I really like [FatFace](https://www.fatface.com/). they have the softest fabric for flowy shorts and pants, been really happy with every piece from them so far. Slightly higher price than the usual high street but so worth. They have great sales too. Sweden - These brands are danish but they are very nice but affordable, [Kaffe](https://www.kaffe-clothing.com/) and [Cream](https://www.cream-clothing.com/). They are from the same "family" I'm pretty sure. If you like boho style there is [Odd Molly](https://oddmolly.com/), I only have 1 top from them but it's very nice, it's hard to find clothes in this style so here's a whole brand with it, it's not everyone's cup of tea though and it's definitely a bit overpriced but we do have them at the outlet mall here in Sweden so I always browse their shop when I visit there if I can find anything that will fit the rest of my wardrobe :P

Canadian here - aritzia is where 99.9% of my clothing budget goes to. Sooo good.

Ivy and Oak. Some styles are a bit unstylish (IMO) but I love that the materials are high quality and the clothes are made to last. And obviously some of their styles are totally my style :)

Norwegian: Holzweiler is my current love. I like the clean, simple Scandinavian aesthetic.

UK - I love Oliver Bonas, it’s great for home decor and fashion. Also adorable their jewellery

In general there is no brand that i would trust blindly. Even people who pay top dollars for luxury products report being disappointed sometimes Also Be aware that i barely shop new anymore. Monoprix: it's like Mark & Spencer for french people. They don't make sandwiches as delicious as M&S but some of their clothing offering is pretty nice, simple. Not all of it, but some. But I would stay away from most of the accessories. Muji (Japanese, obviously but very present in France): a couple nice basics Sessun: it's expensive; and their boxy cut don't flatter my long frame usually, but the quality it pretty good. They often have nice, thick fabrics in colors i like. Maison Standart: basics Esprit (American, but very present in France): some nice stuff Tara Jarmon: expensive, but pretty good quality April77: used to make good jeans, no longer in activity Saint Jame: preppy clothes for posh people who like sailing. Good for sweaters and marinières. Expensive but good quality Mont Saint Michel: expensive and sturdy clothes. Kookai used to be very good, quality took a nosedive at some point and they changed Art Direction for the worst, apprently they recovered a bit?

Russian minimalist here. I can’t think of any clothes brand, but Virronen (https://virronen.com/eng/) make amazing life-warranty leather backpacks. Got one for my birthday 3 years ago, the leather ages beautifully.

Australia again: Oxford make clothes that are good for an office job but slightly quirkier than usual Elliatt make beautiful dresses and Co ords that are great for events. Asilio is very chic and cool but limited sizes.

I really like the Finnish brand [R-Collection](https://www.r-collection.com/category/33/home). They make simple casual/outdoorsy clothing with good quality fabrics. I have one of their anoraks from the 90's and it's still perfectly fine to wear. Not the cheapest, but not outrageously priced either.

Swedish gal here, some popular brands or sites here are ”Nelly”, ”Chiquelle”, ”NA-KD” and the occasional UK based(I think) ”Boohoo”. Nelly and Boohoo are the more feminine and colourful brands while Chiquelle and NA-KD are more elegant.

Stockmann is probably the Finnish equivalent to Nordstrom. Gina Tricot is like H&M or other fast fashion stores. Other Scandinavian fast fashion brands are Lindex, Cubus, KappAhl, Monki and Weekday.

Canada here: Muttonhead: casual sportswear/outdoor wear. All made in Toronto. Really cute stuff, everything is unisex. Nettles Tale: Vancouver brand that does incredible bathing suits but has recently branched out into pants, jumpsuits, tops. Very inclusive sizing xs-4X and wonderful fabrics. All made in Vancouver, BC.

France where I'm from : Not sure if they are lesser known but Naf naf, Kookaï are a bit like Zara but better quality. The Kooples you probably know but I really like. Zadig & Voltaire. These 2 are more expensive. Comptoir des cotonniers too. Etam and Undiz for cheap, cute nightwear and lingerie. UK, where I live : I think everyone here knows All Saints, but it is one of my favourite brands here. On sale, you can pay Zara prices for much better quality. Next has cute stuff, although not my style. Oasis as well. Dorothy Perkins. Next. Not my style but they have cute stuff. Love their homeware though. Oasis is another one.

Canadian: Paradise Boutique swimwear is very cute and super flattering and great quality.

Canada - Judith and Charles. High quality items that range between professional to statement casual pieces. Worth every penny

I think by the far the best Israeli clothing brand worth looking at by non Israelis is [Margarita Sport](https://www.margaritasport.com), a small business from a Kibbutz that has become very well known and loved. Granted, it's a very specific type of clothing designed for (casual) athletes, BUT if you work out and sweat on a daily basis, these will last YEARS. They will not fade, they will not wear out, and they will laugh at the face of profuse sweating then daily laundering. Also, of course, I think the pieces are gorgeous.

Garage Clothing & Dynamite from Canada Garage has some stores in the US, but not sure if Dynamite does. Most of my jeans are from Garage. They have really cute summer clothes.

Lakme is the topmost brand here in India. Their Rose Face Powder, Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Colour and Absolute Skin Natural Mousse are some of my go to products.

I want to highlight the really lovely Turkish brand Yargıcı. Very elegant, gorgeous fabrics and unusual cuts, quality for price is SO MUCH better than most American/Euro brands. But! Shipping to the US is expensive.

Nathalie Vleeschouwer, Selected, Pomax (for household goods, love their candles!!), Noë (for shoes/bags). There are a lot of boutique chains (Juttu, Sienna) that carry smaller brands. Royal Republiq is Danish/Dutch but I used one of their bags for work forever. Sissy-Boy is also Dutch.

Australia: Tigerlilly- boho style with $$ price point but has a great fit. Focuses on clothes and togs ( swim suits) Dangerfield- alternative and vintage inspired relatively good quality fast fashion. I love their prints, patterned pants and jumpers. City Chic- Plus-size line that has some lovely pieces but comes with plussize prices. Glassons- fast fashion- not amazing quality but one of the most popular and is wuite trendy. New Zealand: Allbirds: technically american but founded by a kiwi and has shops only in USA and NZ. Great eco friendly, machine-washable shoes that are the most comfortable and lightweight shoes i own. Made out of wool and/or tree materials. Kowtow: Expensive but one of the most ethical brands out their with clean style specialising in comfortable but elegant clothes.

UK here. Hush UK, Mint Velvet, Boden (fairly well known by now though?), Whistles, Warehouse, are all favourites. Edited to add - I abhor fast fashion, so I want good quality that really lasts. I have a gorgeous oversized knitted denim jumper from Jigsaw that is literally decades old, much loved, much worn, and still looks as new. All the above tick the "really last well" box. So definitely Jigsaw too.

Gorman? Aussie here. Otherwise for boots, RM williams. Sometimes their shirts but they make you look like you work on the land. Gorman could be considered Fast Fashion tbh but idk, it's not my thing.
